seems to have the safe 5 yard pass down to a fine art though

I imagine that despite the players thinking they can just terminate their contracts its all going to end up in a expensive legal mess might be more hassle than its worth to clubs. If it turns the players can do this it could prove interesting with players and agents using it as a loophole to force moves. ( would an agent be underhanded enough to pay someone to rough up his client in club property I wonder....)

I agree with most of that but not the bit in bold I think the teams outside the big six are increasingly struggling to get value for money in the transfer market. All the increased TV money seems to have done is inflated player fees, wages and agents fees. Increasingly PL clubs are being forced to spend more and more money on players who really aren't worth it which results in teams filling up their squads with 15-20 million players who only a few seasons back would have been 8-12 million. Mid table PL clubs are having to spend increasing amounts of money, on transfers and wages, just to stand still..

Haven't really had a chance to see enough of the last two to make an informed decision. The other three aren't really good enough imo.

For Burnley?

I genuinely think this about the size of it. Hughes seems , at least outwardly, happy with the squad. I think there is a disconnect between the clubs view of the squad, and its quality, and that of the fans view of the squad. I think Hughes will get more out of this squad than MoPe but unless we have a big clear out and get in some real quality I can see us being a rather boring lower mid table side for some time to come.

Manolo Gabbiadini: Joins Sampdoria - Official

Looks like he has picked up more points on his driving licence, since coming to the UK, than he did for saints this season ... -
How can any league where Bradley Wright Philips is one of the best ever players ever be Micky Mouse

His agent struggling to find anyone else who wants him? -
Really? the guy wanted a job and no one else was offering him one. Most of these managers are like Teflon if it goes bad Hughes will go (still get paid) and someone else will be desperate enough, in the second half of the season, to give him another job so I doubt he was to bothered other than what his wages and pay off will be.

Except for you obviously who has been like a pig in ****e the last year or so. I bet you are rubbing your hands with excitement at the thought of another poor season...

Newcastle fans view very similar to the OP. https://www.themag.co.uk/2018/06/premier-league-best-world-not-fans-isnt-newcastle-united/ It does seem its the traditional match going fans that feel the most fed up with the PL.

From Fonte's own words 'I spoke to the club [after winning Euro 2016] and said there could be possibilities [to move] and I would like the club to consider it. 'In the summer there were possibilities of leaving – that is normal, everyone fights for their own interests to get the best possible outcome for yourself. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4285920/Jose-Fonte-furious-reports-Southampton-exit.html in his own words he was asking to leave no forcing out was required by the club who actually offered him an improved contract...

Summer 2018 - Other teams Manager/transfer business

They haven't actually signed these players just chanced their arm with a couple of low bids. Probably best to wait until the end of the window to see if WHU have suddenly become the model club for player recruitment. -

Jumping the gun a bit if they had bids rejected. I wouldn't put past the dildo brothers to throw out a few low bids on decent players so they can spin their usual PR about trying to sign players to the fans.. -
Think Shaqiri's agent is putting in the hours right now. The Liverpool link seems a bit odd if Klopp was such a big fan he could have met Shaqiri in a seedy Blackpool B&B anytime he wanted and could easily have prized him away from Stoke paying the sort of money they paid us for Mane of VVD but he didn't (so not such a big fan after all then ?). Seems like no clubs were overall bothered by him until Stoke got relegated and the info he could, allegedly, be picked up at a rock bottom (by PL standards) price got put about in the press.

Grealish's Agent working overtime I find it hard to believe that Poch sat down with Levy and identified Grealish as their prime summer target -
I think you are probably pretty close to the truth but I don't think people want to here it.

Just out of interest does a player have to be a great footballer to be a club legend? I'd argue not. Being a club legend is surely more about time served and having a connection with the fan base. So Franny, as a long serving, but not particularly good, one club man, probably has a good case to be a club legend.

Even at half arsed Lemina was better than our other midfield options last season. Be mad to let him leave.
