Dusan Tadic to Ajax - Undisclosed (£10M)
doddisalegend replied to Feyenoord1908's topic in The Saints
I did think a lot more people would be happy about this given the endless match day thread slagging Tadic gets. I thought he was a flat track bully, not fit to clean Lallana's boots, a lazy foreigner who spends all his time play acting and diving, can't take a pen and despite coming from eastern Europe doesn't like playing when its cold.. I still cant see us selling him for 15million though I mean Liverpool want that for Sturridge in the last year of his contract. -

£15 million eh? West Brom are demanding £18 million for J-rod FFS. Would be completely bizarre to sell Tadic. Also release clause? when have we ever had a player with a release clause and if it exists, and its only 15 million, I'm pretty sure another PL club would have come in for him by now. -
Summer 2018 - Other teams Manager/transfer business

I imagine young James Maddison is going to be a bit gutted if Marhez doesn't leave.. -

I'm just amazed at current level of player transfer inflation it only few years ago 12 million got you a good player (or Shane Long) now it looks like you have to spend 20 million plus to get an OK player It feels like you can make a profit on any half competent footballer these days. -
Signing Wilshere screams West Ham (or possibly Everton). The game is littered with talented players whose careers are blighted by injury in the end he will go to which ever club is prepared to gamble a 130K a week on his fitness I doubt it would be saints though.

Sam only has to get about 7 goals in a season to be in with a chance off being the club golden boot... -

£18 million for J-rod -
and limp back out of it two games later....

More like come and join us our treatment room is really comfy...

You can't see the difference between a player deciding to play for Leicester or saints and Leicester or Real Madrid....
-
If he stays injury free.... I remember lots of people banging on about Sturridge being a great signing for West Brom last Jan he lasted about two games before he was injured again. Players like Wilshere, Carroll and Sturridge could all potential be useful but are a gamble for any club outside the top six because it could cost a fortune in wages to have then spend most of their time in the treatment room.

Didn't stop Judas going to Liverpool. Not saying we are signing him but football contracts are hardly worth the paper they are written on if the money is right. It normally gives the parent club more negotiating power though.
-
Really you think anyone cares enough about that for him to go to the effort? No one would bat an eyelid if the player said he went to Leicester because they offered him more money it's not like anyone else wouldn't do the same.

According to this Fulham are in the hunt for a new left back as we want to keep Targett... http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2018/06/19/do-report-fulham-target-ludwig-augustinsson-as-southampton-make/

Geordie Shore is massive in Belgium...

We bid 20+ million for him. I actually find it reassuring that we are prepared to pay that for an upcoming young British player. Leicester matched us Norwich excepted both bids. We could have been outmuscled on wages but I doubt it was by much. Its annoying not sign him but the fact we tried is a positive and shows we have money to spend.

To be honest I'd get rid of Austin to. I like Austin bit of a lad can't argue with his goals to game ratio but good players who don't play enough through Injury are no good to a club our size. That's why the likes of Wilshere, talented though he might be, is a no for me constantly injured talent isn't going to help us.
-
That he was one of our better players got into good positions but had borrowed Shane Long's finishing boots for last nights game?
-
I thought we looked very good up until the very soft penalty after that we become the England side I'm used to watching and the second half was pretty dull. We have decent attacking options but I'm not sure the defence will cope once we go up against better teams in the competition.
-
Wilshire has the whiff of a West Ham style signing all over him...
-
Well at least Austin would have some company in the treatment room...

you're basically a less entertaining version of Glasgow and Dalek you've spouted so much negative **** over the years that you were bound to get something right in the end by defualt... but hey if makes you feel like a special little chap have a gold star

It is the boards fault but not the way you think it is. It's the boards fault because they where determined to try an be different and back a failing manager by going out and buying a player he clearly wanted. We didn't get Carillo because their was no one else we got him because he was what MoPe asked for. The biggest **** up by the board was the fact Mope was still there in the January transfer window in the first place.
