  1. Really? Man city have already put down a marker with a 43million pound player, Man Utd are apparently going to throw 86 million at Atletico for Griezmann, the big boys got a big wake up call last season and acted accordingly. They were miles ahead this season and look likely to strengthen heavily again. Everton might be in trouble with Barkley and Lukaku looking to leave but other than that I expect pretty much a re-run of this season.
  2. Every side in the league only finishes were it does, every season, because every team below them are worse over the course of 38 games..
  3. yeah its amazing what backing your manager and giving him time to build his team can achieve...
  4. Don't worry its Watford he will be out of a job by this time next year if not sooner....
  5. TBF the club were quite specific in what they were looking for last summer someone to coach and bring the youth in to the first team, was a major factor, and well as being a training ground coach. I believe they spoke to Pellegrini last summer and didn't feel he was that kind of coach. While the fans always like the idea of a big name manager I'm really not sure that's what Les is looking for. A lot of stuff came up after Koeman left that suggested the board weren't happy with how he was dealing with youth players and they were critical of Koeman's style of football that suggests to me Les might have felt a bit burned by Koeman. IMO what Les really wants is Poch or someone like him (in terms of coaching rather than style of play necessarily). Whether he got that with Puel only Les could tell you but if we do replace Puel it probably won't be for some big name like the guys you've listed IMO.
  6. So this from an interview Arsene Wenger did for football focus "A strong club is a club that makes a decision. It is wrong that in modern society it is not a question of whether a decision is right but whether it is popular. That has nothing to do with competence. People with responsibility have to make the right decision."
  7. No good then. Players happiness is the most important thing can't have the poor loves getting upset.
  8. Doing the job you are well paid to do hardly makes you a "great servant", that needs a decent amount of time and games at one club, not ****ing off after two seasons. Go with model professional if you like.
  9. Come off it he's hardly MLT or Benali is he? Been here two whole seasons...needs to be here a bit longer before you start handing out the "great servant to the club" platitudes
  10. But VVD is and arguably Mane was to. Lovern, Lallana and Clyne fair enough Liverpool is about as high as they can go but other two could do better.
  11. £43 million.. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40061812
  12. When you say CBfry you really mean yourself Nick...errr me....I mean Shurlock ...nope wait Always ...don't you?
  13. Which is of course what is important to your average saints fan. I know I lay in bed at night worrying about saints players getting the good move the deserve...
  14. well I imagine the list includes anyone who doesn't agree with you
  15. can't wait to see Shurlock's response to being accused of being Always in disguise ... I imagine it will involve serious use of the word Pal
  16. Why does it always have to be Liverpool and spurs anyone but those two ****house clubs? For ****s sake Chelsea/Man City pull your ****ing finger out and start signing some our players....
  17. I see westham are building a defence for the future West Ham are to sign defender Pablo Zabaleta on a free transfer once his Manchester City contract expires at the end of June. The 32-year-old Argentine will join on a two-year deal on 1 July. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40061220
  18. so are we competing with West ham for everyone this summer?
  19. So how much improvement are people expecting next season if we bin Puel and bring in someone else? The current squad must have one of poorest forward lines in the league ( at least in terms of converting chance) We have a central middlefield devoid of pace, power and passing vision. We also look like we are losing the best of the squad by shipping out three of our first choice defence. With Targett being used as a replacement for Bertrand. Given that we are going need a much better summer, in terms of recruitment, than last and will still likely be a poorer squad. So what is success for Monk/Moyes/Silva/uber German manager next season?
  20. No it doesn't it shows how good spurs have been this season they didn't lose at home all season. The big boys are back on top because they've improved making everyone else look worse.
  21. Someone on here posted a snippet on another thread that he wasn't happy about the Lander deal don't known how true that is but it might have cost him his job #conspiracytheory
  22. Doubt Levy will pay anything like that. Isn't the usual spurs tactic agree move with players agent, put in stupidly low bid, tell player to agitate for move hope players current club bend over and take it...
  23. That would actually not be bad .....though Les will probably replace him with Harry Lewis...
  24. Sadly yes. Pretty irrelevant who the manager is if that is the direction our squad is heading..
