No Koeman did an excellent job but people claiming that he played some sort of swashbuckling exciting football is laying it on a bit thick. Last seasons 6th place finish also has to be put in to context with several of the normal top six under performing last season.

I think you are over doing Koeman's style of football a bit it was mostly about smashing it to Pelle's head.

Amazing looking at the table that if we win today we could be in 7th tonight which would be a bit of a head scratcher considering our patchy form. Mind you top six finish is going to be bloody hard this season as the big boys are all doing better than last season and are already 6pts clear of 7th even if we win.

Are you kidding? All we do is frigging cross the ball problem is the crosses are either **** poor or when the full back does actually deliver a good one into the box there are no saints players in the bloody box to do anything with it.

My son is 15 and been to two saints v pompey games (three if you include the youth FA cup game a few seasons back) so he understands the rivalry I imagine plenty his age do if anything he hates Liverpool far more the Bournemouth..

I don't think that is the managers intention though. We are really playing with one holding midfielder but the further advanced midfielders (Hoj aside) don't seem to be getting into the box enough something Puel needs to hammer into them on the training ground.

My take is the club won't buy a striker if there is not a suitable one at the right price. I'm guessing the panic element would be getting in Peter Crouch on loan or spending big on Rudy Gestede in desperation to appease the fans in a "Well we got a striker" way. The signing of Bony by Stoke or the money paid for Benteke and Bolasie all smacked of panic buying to me. Adding to our strike force is a sensible move but the club ' do it at any cost.

I doubt it. I'm sure the club are looking but they tend to take a longer term view to things than most fans. If there is someone available at the right price they may well go for it in Jan but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't bring in anyone, recalled Sam G or brought in a loan with an option to buy if he works out instead.

errr we weren't 5th this time last season we were 12th with 5W, 6 D, 5 L which I think is exactly the same as our record this season....

On the subs I think the replacement of Tadic with Redmond, and the formation change, against Boro changed the game in our favour Last night the only real game changer we had on the bench given the way the game was going was Tadic but he hasn't looked good since he came back. Jrod wasn't likely to make much difference in his current form.

True but I don't think that's the intention of the manager more to do with the players available. Hoj does at least try to get forward and Clasie has looked more threating in in his last couple of games but we don't really have a proper attacking central midfielder.
