No they weren't we were terrible at the start of last season certainly not playing any better than we currently are. We drew with a team ultimately relegated, were destroyed at home by a terrible Everton team and err drew with Watford. Love how people are trying to re-write the beginning of last season.

Antonio called up for England. Not good enough for the PL lol.. http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/article/165/10556374/sam-allardyce-has-named-west-ham-midfielder-michail-antonio-in-his-first-england-squad

you might want to be a bit more specific about which of the 294 posts you agree with

People keep saying this but I'm not seeing it anymore than last season. They players hardly looked happy little souls last season when they went through that mid-season slump or the start of last season when they were doing about as well as they're right now. I'm pretty sure some fans are unhappy and are trying to project their feelings onto the players actions.

Really? I thought he was a target man in the Pelle mould not sure that fits the new mangers system at all we'd be better off with a younger version of a Defoe I'd have thought.

That was the big positive play him there (in Tadic's position behind Long and Jrod/Austin) playing like he did for the last twenty minutes and we have a player. Playing him upfront with his back to goal asking him to win headers from long punts up field and he is pointless. TBH I'm struggling to imagine that Puel is asking our players to punt aimless balls to Redmond's head but that's what was happening in the first half of both home games so maybe his team mates need to take a look at themselves.
-
Have you considered that the club might want to do this? Puel isn't going anywhere anytime soon and people calling for it already well there are no words really....
-
Thing is Redmond had his best spell once he moved into the middle behind the strikers after Tadic went off loads of direct running and 1-2s couple of chances.
-
of course you did
-
When he dropped into the middle behind the strikers rather than out wide is when he had his best spell of the game he actually started to look dangerous
-
err except at this time last season after 3 games we didn't have more points playing the way we played last season, were lower in the table, and had conceded more goals.....
-
I'm with you two. Certainly not perfect (first half in particular was **** poor) but not nearly as bad as people are trying to make out.

There's a whole load of posters who were made to look like knobs for the last few seasons who are clearly desperate for it to go tits up just so they can finally say they are right. The truth is every season we improve it gets harder to improve the following season if we establish ourselves as a regular top ten side (while occasionally doing better or putting a decent cup run together) we will be doing pretty well as a club
-
We had seven shots on target to Sunderland's two. Their keeper made 6 saves to our keepers 1 seems like a good indication we were the better side to me.
-
The subs were fine if anything our best period of the game came when Tadic went off and Redmond dropped in behind the strikers. Swapping Davis and Højbjerg at half time also made us beter in the second half.
-
LOL hyperbole of the worse sort I can remember plenty of games last season alone when we were worse than today....
-
Yes if your manager wants you to play a possession based game keeping possession kind of requires you to pass the ball well and having people showing for the ball. Far to much punting the ball long in the 1st half today (Redmond is not a CF) when we got it down and played it in the last 20-25 minutes it showed what the players can do in the diamond formation.

Must be acoustics Then. The Northam sounds silent at most games were I sit yet when I sat in the Chapel I could hear them every game.
