  1. That's the problem with the social media age it's like Chinese whispers. One person tweets something, then a few people re-tweet with add embleshiments, then some people blog it then some press post it up as news "with our sources understand". I'm not saying he isn't going to spurs (I have no idea what's going on) but half the links/tweets/media stories on here seem to be re-hashes off the same story and the other half seem to just contradict each other. This golden age of social media means every Tom, **** and Harry is some ITK guru where as I suspect most of them haven't got a frickin clue what's really going on..
  2. So is there any chance of UEFA getting involved in this little fracas? I'd assume it wouldn't take them long to work out who is the right and enforce the contract one way or another.
  3. Like last season when Spurs thought poch had the inside track on Morgan and they offered 10 million because they thought that was the release fee in Morgan's contract. Would Mitchell be that privy to player contracts? I thought his job was to identify players who could do a job for saints? I thought the contract side of things was , as Ronald keeps mentioning, Les Reeds department.
  4. Why are people upset he is a full international, for gods sake, who has been capped 20 times by the Dutch Caribbean island of Curacao........... ......yeah I had to look on google maps and wiki to:p
  5. See it's on the BBC now according to beeb Toby is a target for Man city which is a new one on me. Watch them swoop in and gazump both us and spurs for 20 million now:lol: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33408647
  6. Agree. Alps is a miserable sod to the point were no one takes anything he says seriously but I think their is merit in discussing were saints go from here. How does a club like ours compete higher up the food chain without the resources the big boys have? Not sure I know the answer to be honest. We can't just throw money at the problem on the other hand you can't stand still in the Pl and settle for being the seventh best team because others will over take us.
  7. Woah you're not allowed to play the look where we were card on here anymore......forum rules. Got to agree though I'm always surprised when I hear saints fans talking about breaking the bank or signing players to compete for top six it's almost like the club going bust never happened.
  8. If this turns out to be true I think someone at AM is going to get the sack...
  9. err nothing apart from saints threatening AM with legal action.
  10. What ever happens I guess we won't be doing any more business with AM again.....
  11. err I don't follow social media feel free to post up the cringe for all to enjoy...
  12. What? how is a player choosing to join a bigger club make us a laughing stock?
  13. The post I replied to called club spending frugal the implication being the club should spend more. Plus in truth neither you or I have any idea what the club feels it can afford to spend this summer unless you're ITK?
  14. No more a comment on mad fans who seem to think saints should spend to keep up with the big boys.
  15. Maybe we can't force them but it might well make other clubs think twice about buying him if they think it might end in messy legal action. With any luck it will put everyone else off and AM will to sell to us for lack of a another option.
  16. Is that the same as the Clyne to Man U done deal and the Morgan to Arsenal/Man U done deals they have reported?
  17. Actually I remember watching saints lose to Charlton in the championship a few years back wondering if I'd even have a club to support the following season. No matter what I want this club run sustainably and well I do not want the club to try and compete with the big boys on wages and fees if we can't afford to. Expectations are sky high among saints fans these days and we've done so well since the take over but cast your mind back to pre takeover and how you felt.........I'll take frugal (if you can even call our spending the last few years that) every day thanks.
  18. Because as people like to keep pointing out we are ****ty little Southampton, with our **** wage structure, **** history and tiny fanbase we're a little club and any player would want to go to the mighty Westham instead of a little club like us.................or something
  19. Can't see that being true HTBH
  20. maybe but lets be honest 15 million for Austin really isn't that bad a price in todays transfer market. We paid around that for Osvaldo and I know which one I'd want in a PL team.
  21. Wasn't it only recently our own fans who described Mane as league 1 level? Football fans aren't always the best judge (especially of players who have just dumped their club for someone else) You'd like to think our recruitment department could spot the difference between a pl capable player and one that is mid table champ standard.
  22. You can see why he was so keen to join Liverpool he could possibly be the highest earning full back in the PL.
  23. intresting article here (quite long) about how good clyne is compared to other PL fullbacks http://www.thehardtackle.com/2015/analysis-how-good-is-nathaniel-clyne-compared-to-premier-leagues-best/ this bit caught my eye Clyne is reportedly at 90,ooo per week salary at Liverpool FC. That is, again, for a defender, lot of money. To put it into context, arguably league’s best right back, Branislav Ivanovic is paid around 80k per week.
  24. Don't want that Rodgers is the gift that keeps on giving. Don't want Liverpool to have a manger who knows what he is doing.
