That's got to be a joke right? I think Lovern is a decent PL CB but last night against Brazil (ie top class players) he looked pretty poor can't see him being Barca standard. Then again I never thought Liverpool would want Lambert so what do I know ....... **** it will probably be Jos to PSG next.

That was the old saints. Since the take over saints have a good record with bringing in managers despite what people think Les Reed isn't totally brain dead.

Pretty sure if he has to choose between us and Leicester we are by far the more attractive stepping stone to a Liverpool career plus by the time we sell the first 11 we will be well minted so can outbid Leicester....

They didn't sign for saints becuase of a project. They signed becuase we were the best deal avaliable and gave them entry into the big gravy train that is the PL. The project might have been a nice extra but it was cash and the potential of a move to a bigger PL club (if they had a good season with us) that made them sign.

That's pretty harsh they aren't going to pay him but his not allowed to find a new job either. I guess they don't want him going to another bundesliga side but wouldn't have a poblem with him joining a side elsewhere.

Bollix wouldn't make any difference. Dejan (or any of the other players) couldn't care less about the clubs ambitions when a bigger club comes calling. If you think uncle Les sitting down with the players and telling them we're aiming for Europe would make any difference when the likes of Liverpool or Man U come calling there is no hope for you.

Nothing to do with a bigger club offering more money sniffing around...........nothing at all Don't really have a problem with players wanting to move up the football food chain but at least they owe the fans is honesty. (" it's not you it's me") Just admit you don't want to be at the club because you've head a better offer. I highly doubt it players couldn't care less I reckon. It's all about the ££ and champions league football. Mike Basset could be the manager of Liverpool and they still rather go there than stay at saints.

The club don't actually have to accept a transfer request though do they? They can just say "You signed a contract you're not for sale Dejan. See you at pre-season". If, as the club say, we don't need to sell anyone the player offering to forego loyalty payments in return for a move surely isn't all that much of an incentive to the club if they'd rather have the player instead of cash.

Thought Les said a young up coming manager can't see Mancini fitting that bill...

TBF Koeman has won some sort of silverware with five out of the seven clubs he has managed (including Valencia where be all accounts he was ****) that kind of suggests he has got some ability I would say and that's a pretty big step up on any saints manager I can remember.

When this all started and and I read a few articles on Yakin and I thought he sounded great but then all the talk was of Koeman who, to me a least, didn't see to shabby either. Now there is this Tuchel guy who also sounds pretty good. Any of them would on paper at least seem like decent appointments. Though I still like the sound of Yakin I'd be happy with any of the above three really. The whole idea of Mancini coming to saints is just laughable IMO

I think the days of almost any club having managerial stability are long gone. Either the manager has a poor run of games and gets sacked or as we've seen with mopo if the manager does well he'll jump ship soon as a better offer comes in. Might as well just assume a managers shelf life is about 18 months and take each appointment from there.

Well you kind of do because you actually have no say in how the club is run basically you have a choice accept what happens or walk away. As yet it has never got bad enough to make me walk away..... The chances off some sort of mass sky/PL boycott is about the same as all the countries smokers giving up fags it isn't going to happen. Even if English fans did get together to fight the evils of Sky/PL the brand has gone so global they could probably carry on showing the English PL around the world even without English fans being involved with little harm to their brand.
