  1. make you mind up which is it. I would like to think we target every match as a key to survival....the team management dismissing some games as losses before we have even kicked a ball is stupid and only puts pressure on the team in the games deemed as winnable. The cold hard fact is 4 pts from 21 regardless of who we have played.
  2. Looked like lots of families at the games I've been to this season. Problem is there seem to be some who think woman and children at football is wrong and that SMS should be filled with 18-35 year old hardmen....
  3. But all the games count so there is no point writing games off as no hopers they're still points we didn't get...more to the point we probably deserved something from the games we had no hope in more than the ones people had down as home bankers. At the end of the day points make prizes trying some creative accounting to make things look better than they are makes no sense to me at all.
  4. I hope Nigel doesn't use that logic......"don't worry guys it's man U today we're going to lose"
  5. You shouldn't be spending 7 million on a player to then play him out of postion unless destroying his confidence is your objective. Also why spend 7 million quid on one for the future when we need PL quaility players now. I'm sorry but Jrod is the second most expensive player in the clubs history that comes with expectations (from the fans and club) I very much doubt the club brought him thinking don't worry he'll come good in a couple of seasons. He may come good but probably only playing in his natural postion. If we don't want to play him there and insist on playing him out of postion then we bought the wrong player and should have bought one that plays out left instead.
  6. yes slightly strange he drank most of it..... my kids tend to kick up a fuss pretty quickly if something tastes "funny"
  7. Slightly different as it wasn't on the net ....but is this freedom of speech or being a c ock http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-19911943
  8. A restaurant has apologised after a toddler was served whisky instead of fruit juice at his birthday party. Sonny Rees drank the 40% proof whisky at his 2nd birthday in a Frankie and Benny's restaurant in Swansea. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-west-wales-19906942
  9. What gets me are there seem to be a lot of adults who knew about this and said nothing until now when it is all to late. These allegations that nurses told kids to pretend to be a sleep when Jimmy came for a visit ...I mean WTF why didn't they tell someone and get him stopped from visiting. Did people really care more about his charity donations than what he was (allegedly) doing to these kids?
  10. The question is surely why pay 7 million for a player and then play him out of postion...that kind of suggests the club didn't buy the right player.
  11. To true nothing is a given the difference is in the football league there is always a chance (hope if you like) that you can achieve promotion or ()win the league or playoffs) the PL is a closed shop ...already a few games in were all saying 17th is a great achivement we will just have to get used to losing most weeks I just find it hard to get excited by that.
  12. see that is spot on ......... What amazes me is how happy some people are with that (and pay more for it to boot) give me the football league anyday
  13. good post...there does seem to be be a tendency for people to do the internet equivalent of sticking their fingers in their ears and going "lalalala I'm not listening to you" around here
  14. I liked playing those teams:(
  15. I remember watching a telly programme were they gave workshy brits the chance to do the low paid work imigrants do ....the brits weren't interested they'd rather sponge of the state than do poor paid menial work. Chances are we'd boot out the econmic migrants and then struggle to find brits who wanted to do their jobs.
  16. Our programme sellers are now fit birds we get more column inches in the media Aston villa at home was fun We're still in the Milk cup Rickie is still a legend There's no pressure as everyone expects us to lose Andy Crosby is still here
  17. yes it does Ehsanullah Ehsan told BBC Urdu that they attacked her because she was anti-Taliban and secular secular meaning not relegoius and being as this the Taliban (who are islamists) by extentsion not muslim. I'm certainaly not suggesting all muslims think this way just in the same way many christains don't agree on the exact details of their relegion. I just find it amazing that the Taliban can use Islam to justify basically trying to kill a 14 year old girl for wanting to go to school. Even if you take the relegion side of it out I still find it amazing that they want to treat women this way in the 21st century.
  18. Maybe not (Justin lee Collins has just proved that) but these people did it in the name of Islam. I just don't understand it I want my daughter to have as many chances in life as possible.
  19. .....Gunmen have wounded a 14-year-old rights activist who has campaigned for girls' education in the Swat Valley in north-west Pakistan. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-19882799 what sort of relegion thinks it's alright to (try and) kill a 14 year old girl for wanting an education.........
  20. Which results in more unemployment becuase they'll just cut their staff numbers to keep the staffing costs the same......Not that there are any easy answers in this sort of debate.
  21. I wonder if the poll would read different if it said "Do you think NC will sack Nigel this season?" Pointless asking the fans if they want to sack Nigel it's hardly their descion. Most of us like Nigel and want him to stay but more important is what NC thinks.
  22. Maybe we've changed as fans in the years out of the top flight...
  23. What would you like to base the performance of a striker on if not goals? we bought a NPC striker when we already had one who had done better last season. I have no idea if Sharp would have been any good for us in the PL he was written off and loaned out before we even got the chance to find out but he could hardly of done any worse than Jrod. Part of the problem for Jrod is his price tag has come with big expectations like or not 7 million quid means people will expect something from him.
  24. benefits of our new CB pairing?
