  1. Didnt he do that before when he changed it from Sundance Beast and Scooby?
  2. I will pronounce it however they would like me to! Ich 'Lee Bear' dich!
  3. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liebherr Serious trucks! The prospective new owners are worth £3.5 Billion, 157th richest people in the world.
  4. Lowe was friends with one of the Mail journalists and used him occassionally to run pro-Lowe stories.
  5. I have to agree... this is a Daily Mail story. It means that the follow up next week will be a story of the new owners assisting in the death of Diana, Princess of Wales due to their association with a neo-Nazi Michael Jackson inspired group of one legged midgets. Need to be careful here, afterall they even thought Lowe was good.
  6. Thank god Jason's posting again. You're no skate mate. You're absolutely right and the sort of badly needed ambition and fight this club needs.
  7. Yes docker, they're the ones he's talking about.
  8. Sleeping giant with Premier League infrastructure and a huge fan base. Simples.
  9. You're probably right there Barney and you Nickh. I did note that Lawrie spoke well on Sky when the Pinnacle group bid was withdrawn though. My thoughts were driven by the fact he will always be engaged by the media for his previous reputation and the fact he's Saints through and through. Better the devil you know I suppose... but yes I think you're right in retrospect.
  10. Nor me. The only thing I can think of is that he is being rewarded for his loyalty and the fact he has stayed on, rather than go to Eqypt, to see the next few weeks through until the takeover is completed. Once he's sacked he'll be given a decent payoff. I noted that Fry had to consult the previous board in order to appoint him manager, that included David Jones and I presume therefore Rupert Lowe, his good friend. Can't see a new Swiss owner with an ounce of sense keeping him for his ability to unite the fanbase and for his footballing tactical acumen.
  11. '...for my pride I didn’t want to continue preparing the team for somebody else.' Wotte. Well there you go.... pride before the fall?
  12. In sum. MLT, 'if we take over you're sacked unless we cant find a better manager.' Fair one.
  13. I know I tend to use some big words sometimes 19. Enjoy your snooze. What's that new avatar... not another club as well as Andover you're supporting surely? Hockey too... friend of yours play for them?
  14. I think you have always been a realist in that you supported Lowe given the facts presented. Not knowing that alternatives would be out there you pretty much stuck with the devil you knew. Nothing wrong with that except that it takes a little imagination, idealism and will-generation to move on from that position to find something better. That has always been selling the club on to someone better. And there have been many who'd have taken us on, particularly last year. Realist maybe... but when idealism was needed most. Taking a risk more often produces results. Supporting a chap with a track record of failure is more likely to result in further failure. And it did... until Barclays did the deed that I suspect will go down in Saints history as one of the most important decision's made for the success that will now follow upon takeover closure.
  15. Nicer in red and white dont you think?
  16. They seriously need to take over soon before Real Madrid buy everyone.
  17. I suspect he'll spend money on appointing people who will make this work. Afterall he has it. CEO, well known chairman with footballing links would be a start. Appoint MLT and Lawrie Mac as our media spokesmen. MLT in particular should be involved in some role for his integrity alone. Appoint the best manager we can afford and stick with him. That would be my starting point...
  18. I agree Nick, including the manager. A chance for something new and inspiring! Bring it on!
  19. Is this Keith Harris' bid?
  20. I agree. 19 Canteen is entitled to his views. Most of them are probably misguided, Lowe was definately not a good chairman, but he is entitled to voice his opinion. What would be the point of this messageboard if we couldnt debate and throw in ideas? The best posters are those that take risk and generate debate. I guess that makes 19 Canteen one of the better posters... slightly mad... but welcome!
  21. Bloody marvellous... hang on.... it's a Daily Mail story... Still... here's hoping!
  22. Why did we get him? What was the story there?
  23. And - yet again unfortunately I will have to post it... I will support Wotte in his efforts this season IF he is the man our new owners select. But, I hope our new owners demonstrate ambition by taking a very early opportunity to give us someone better. I have met no-one personally yet who has smiled at the prospect of him leading us... but note many vocal posters on here resigned to follow a second-stream man again (just as we have for 14 years with Lowe), when it MIGHT... just MIGHT be time for some real hope... perhaps that faded with MLT and Pinnacle... perhaps not. Fighting spirit amongst some seems to have faded to a low that may be understandable given the near destruction of something so dear to all of us. But, it is the path to further demise. But, I am aiming as high as I think we can be this summer IF the right backer comes in, no more - no less. I have always been frustrated with those who'd roll over and accept our fate, throughout the Lowe years too many seemed to. But, perhaps thats because in my own profession I demand success as failure is not an option. Likewise in professional sport there is usually only one winner... that is the team who show ambition, demand success and act like gladiators for the cause. My crystal ball cannot tell me if Wotte is the man to do this. But, a very quick look around it tells me there are many who are more likely to be successful and deliver the one thing Wotte himself has said we need... To start from scratch. I agree with you though Dave - please do not think I am attacking you as your post is good constructive debate. If Wotte is what we are left with once the takeover goes through, then we support it. We have to support it. But, the takeover has not yet gone through, and when it does, it will be their decision to make. New ownership is looming. But are they men or mice? Ambitious men or will they reflect the sort of spirit being shown by those who roll over? It's time to unite in support regardless. Problem is, apart from showing dignity in relegation and takeover ups and downs, has Wotte proven himself ON THE PITCH as the man to unite us... or will many many many more fans than me destroy every game he fails in over the next 9 months? Does he have credibility on the pitch? That is the question the new owners must decide and is the one we must support.
  24. Steady on! lol... Season's not started yet. I am looking forward to the optimism wave post takeover!
  25. We shall be watching his progress carefully methinks.
