  1. Comparing the progress of different players is daft for one simple reason. They are different players. I'm judging Edozie on what he did last season, not how he compares to another player! He did not get his head up, he did not see runs, he did not score, he did not assist. You and others may see that as a great contribution, but the one thing Selles got right was dropping him.
  2. What does the Tella question matter? Edozie played for us and failed to deliver. I couldn't care if he was 19 or 29 - he didn't deliver.
  3. Yep. Future potential is all well anf good, but results are based on a players ability to deliver at the time. Reading the stuff on here, and judging by the confused emoji's, it's almost like I'm the only one who can remember how shite most of our signings were!
  4. Promise is not running around and failing to score or produce assists. His age is irrelevant - it's a results business. He failed to deliver, pure and simple. Sure, he may come good, but it's beyond belief that anyone could suggest that he was a success last season, and that's the only one we can judge him on.
  5. Edozie isn't Tella. Edozie failed last season. Yes?
  6. We'll agree to differ on all of that! We only needed Orsic because Edozie didn't deliver. Sure, he didn't work out either, but had Edozie been able to score or assist, we wouldn't have needed another left winger. I'm staggered there's a defence being made of Baz - he frightened the defence as much as they frightened him, but a decent keeper would have saved shots, thus points, and possibly helped save our season. This argument that one success from the city signings made it work out financially is a really bad argument though. Each player has to be assessed on his merits and performances. Only 1 in 4 from that group was a success. That's indisputable.
  7. Perverse perspective imo. 3 failures out of 4 does not make a success story on any assessment. As for Baz/relegation, I'm in no doubt that we had been in touch with safety the players would have had hope and we'd have done better. Baz was a massive factor in why we fell behind the pack, and there was no coming back from that imo.
  8. Of course they may develop, but they may not. Thus far we can only judge them on what they've shown thus far. They haven't shown enough.
  9. I haven't said anything about McCarthy. I've said Bazunu cost us points, and possibly relegation. We needed a decent keeper, not Bazunu or McCarthy. Let's keep on topic - only 1 in 4 of our city kids cut the mustard.
  10. It may not have been enough, but nobody is convincing me that Bazunu didn't cost us points.
  11. I'm not, and I see no issue with loans or glorified loans. At the end of the day, a deal has to work for all parties. A kid may be devastated to leave City or Chelsea and yearn to go back once they've had experience. A loan makes that happen, and a buy back makes it possible. For the selling club, it may be that they want another club to develop, but may not want to commit to having the kid back so they have the option, but at a price which makes it a runner for both clubs. For the likes of us, we get a player who may do well, and a chance of a profit if there's a buy back - and it's probably the only way we'd get the kid anyway. Put it another way, if the choice was Tino on the deal we got, or no Tino, what would you have wanted?
  12. Nor did Larios or Edozie. Only 1 in 4 of our city recruits suceeded, and let's not overlook that if we had a decent keeper rather than Bazunu, we may have avoided relegation. It's madness that people are dressing up our signing kids from City policy as a success story because 1 player did well. As for Orsic, we wouldn't have had to take a punt in him if Edozie could actually do anything with the ball - Edozie was part of the problem which led to that problem!!
  13. Most of our fans would have him here in a heartbeat. What Leicester will pay him is nothing other than speculation - some people think everything they read on twitter is fact.
  14. Epsom
  15. More chance that he won't want the embarrassment of playing for fans who get all upset that we're playing Bournemouth in a friendly. He (and the other players) will probably quite like the idea of turning them over though.
  16. Bree is the obvious one to stay. Decent championship RB. I can't see KWP wanting to stick around, although I suspect he won't have a massive list of suitors after last season.
  17. Short
  18. Handcuffs
  19. Ray too. Quiz question - who was the talented kid who was the 3rd player in that move? Never made it sadly.
  20. Sure, but it rarely ends well. Sadly he'll go if he wants to, and a sensible bid comes in. That contract will help us get top dollar.
  21. Rumours... who knows where the truth lay though. Regardless of the striker situation, Shields signed loads of kids and left us well short of what we needed to survive. Yep, it was a shit show though.
  22. Yep. I'm not sure that Shields going was a bad thing. He made a mess in the summer by putting our faith in loads of untested kids, and didn't get us a striker.
  23. It's been said a million times - the only relevance of a long or recent contract is that gives us strength on the fee. That said, I'd be disappointed if this kid wants out so early. He's a terrific player who'd rip up the championship imo.
  24. Buggy
  25. Jeez, here you go again, piping up the next day. As for what you've posted, if it's always someone else, it usually isn't SoG.
