We all live with hope. Show me a person who says that they've never crossed their fingers, or taken a chance and hoped for the right outcome, and I'll show you a liar.
-
Yep. This variant is still in its infancy over here. Locking down would have been over the top, and doing nothing would have been negligent. At the moment we just have to pop a mask on, use common sense/our own judgment, and boost our defences with another jab. Our current approach is balanced and sensible imo, and I'm not sure where page after page of the same repetitive nonsense takes anyone.
-
It's got that feel to it. Ostracised and not selected until jabbed, perhaps.
-
That work from home or be fine stance is outrageous. I've interpreted the if you "can" work from home to mean that we can't work from home effectively, so we go to work. If we implement this, that can't happen. That decision feels like a step towards lockdown by stealth.

This is a premium forum mate, percentages only. Fractions are so ugly inside.

It was, although I'm surprised that he hasn't retorted with 66.6666667%

MLG must be getting a little twinge from all the pedantry on display here.

Yep. This "have the jab to protect others" is nonsense. My jabs help me, and if they stop me being hospitalised, they help the NHS. They don't help anyone else though as I can still pass covid on. The only thing I can do to help others is pop a mask on and do regular LF tests, a covid passport doesn't help anyone.

You're as capable as giving a correct answer as I am. Not like you tobe shy.
-
We could all hazard a guess and I suspect it'll be a similar answer MLG.
-
Good. It's the principled minority who'll drag the rest of us into lockdown or give us an over stretched NHS. Heap the pressure on them I say.
-
It could be, but in that case, it's correct imo that it wasn’t
-
That pre supposes that side effects is the issue for not vaccinating. For most is some of principle, arguing against state control and similar bollox.
-
Disagree. There's no manipulation. My dad is dying. If he gets covid he won't survive. If the cause of death is shown as covid, that won't be inaccurate as he wouldn't have died at that time of it were not for the covid.
-
Never a penalty. The ball had gone and been recovered by the defender.
-
Why "question everything" when someone who is dying gets covid, and the covid then accelerates their death? People are looking for conspiracies that don’t exist.
-
The success of their master plan, surely?

I'm not sure we can lockdown again, financially and Mental health wise, it'll be crippling. There'll also be defiance on a huge scale I think, something not helped by the antics of this government and the media portrayal of it. On the second point, there'll come a point where there's a super transmissible variant that's so mild it is our solution. Whether this is it remains to be seen though.

I respect of all that, and I think it fair to say that we all have and are entitled to have, a different view on this. People lose my respect though when they seek to dictate what others should do believing their view to be the only one that matters. They're like covid Jehovah's witnesses.
-
I think he did, yes. On the second part, I could well believe it.

We need to ride this out for sure, but unless you're advocating a lock down, what's the solution?
