Liverpool 3-0 Saints - Match Thread

I would too, for what it's worth. Would expect MacAllister at the very least, but I do feel very confident that it's not going to be anything close to strong from them. -

With the state of their injuries/fitness after yesterday, this has to be a game we attack and hopefully get morale/the season back on track with a win. Spoke to my mate who supports Liverpool and he expected this to be the team, may be way off obviously but if it's something like this you'd expect we're borderline favourites - Kelleher Bradley - Gomez - Quansah - Tsimikas Clark - McConnell - Nyoni Gakpo - Danns - Koumas A nice win to get the fans back on side and then we're one win away from Wembley. -
To be honest if he was ordinary we’d be way better off
-
The most surprising thing about that is that you’re saying surely it can’t be true! Clear as day he’s not good enough, amplified without Downes making him look passable
-
Nothing like Hull where you can accept a decent team did a job. Millwall absolutely awful and we couldn’t get near them
-
Embarrassing couple of weeks I understand we’re missing Downes but this drop off is remarkable, we look like a dead average Championship team and it’ll only be worse next season when the better couple head off as well It’s one seriously important play-offs and I just don’t fancy it, especially as our goalkeeper is incapable of not just handing goals out for fuck all
-
Their fans are certainly up for it on the train down, maybe we’ll have an atmosphere today…
-
Don’t think any of those were noteworthy, in particular Stu who I thought was poor?
-
Not just a one off then, shite stuff for most of it Smallbone and Rothwell comically bad Aribo and Che only positives, if not just for the fact they were the only ones showing for the ball Not sure I’d want Hull in the playoffs, did what we do just better for the most of it
-
Fabio Carvalho and the brilliant Philogene in behind Billy Sharp(!) or Liam Delap for Hull, with academy graduate Alfie Jones at the back. Lots of interesting players in their side. Tough game but we have to win with the standard Leeds are also setting at the moment. In a perfect week we'd be able to go 4 clear of Leeds by beating Millwall on Saturday, with them losing to Leicester the night before. Che vs Mara is a toss-up for me personally, both have their merits.

Can’t lie, didn’t expect it. Serious fucking team. COYR
-
Arma so so poor recently come on
-
Can't argue with the numbers he's produced but Armstrong should really have many more goals.
-
Certainly not a fan of that team, hopefully it surprises.
-
Adam Armstrong’s general ball striking is ridiculously bad, can’t believe how often he scuffs the ball
-
Exactly this, anything else is dramatic How I’m reading posts that we’re stuck here another season already ffs, weird bunch
-
Absolutely shite today, and realistically against most of the contending teams Wake up call for sure, massive game on Friday now
-
I’d fancy myself to get past Will Smallbone
-
Come on Mara, leave no doubt that you’ve now got to start games Fraser had some great input off the bench too
-
Just zero midfield presence here
-
Ah Smallbone just awful man
-
Manning gets unfair criticism sometimes but he is bafflingly easy to get round at times, fucking hell
-
It wasn’t a good pass, Edozie could only just get a toe to it which sent him far too wide and led to it not being a simple chance on goal.
-
Have to score there. So, so poor from Armstrong.
-
We’ve seen we have enough off the bench to be confident we can win it in the second half, but need big changes and another fast start. And then pray to everything that Downes is back for Friday somehow.
