I suppose you are right but only if the FA Cup means as much as it used to do. As I have said I don't think Pochettino wants us to slip down the league, I think he wants to finish strongly and he knows he has a small squad. The Cup could have drained his resources.

Well, I for one will not hold a grudge if we finish 8th in the Premier League. A fine achievement and one to be very proud of.

I would say that with a small squad Pochettino has decided we will do better to target our resources in the league than 'gamble' in the Cup. Seems logical to me.

Good post. We still have a fair way off until the end of the season and I expect the idea is to avoid us fizzling out in the league. Sacrificing the Cup, in order to do this has a certain logic to it.

Surely you didn't believe the propaganda machine. I have said many times, our most important aim at the beginning of our season 'remain in the premier league'. I cant imagine the Cup was talked about. Fat Sam had the right idea when Wham baled out at Forest and they have benefitted. Premier League, Premier League, Premier league ! That's all that matters. If our manager has made thi sour priority then good on him !

Lots of people are getting the defeat today out of proportion. We beat Hull on Tuesday to more or less guarantee Premier football. That was the real story this week, today's result will be forgotten before the sunrise.
