You're just specualting and it's all on the assumption that some how, NC is the problem. What if we did agree with Bologna in principle that we would pay 15M over 3 years and then they came back and said they want it over 2 years instead? This seems to be the case. Should NC just pay it, even if it doesn't fit in with what our remaining budget might be? Why would NC be the issue here?

I would take every report with a pinch of salt to be fair, positive and negative. If it doesn't come off though, just consider that we've managed to keep hold of all our stars so far and we've got 10-15 goal midfielders already in Chaplow and De Ridder.

Come off it mate. NA was typically coy about the whole thing so not sure how you got the impression he had signed? As far as we know, we've only been in the late stages of this deal for around a week. Some transfers go on for weeks or months. This is nothing.

On FIFA, I simply bid a couple of million over the recommended asking price. A couple of days later I get an email from the players club either accepting or rejecting the deal. If they ask for more money, I simply give it to them if I have it. A couple of days later I get another email saying I can offer the player a contract. I offer the player the chairmans suggestion and and a 10% bonus. 2 days later, player accepts deals and is immediately available for selection, even if signed on a match day. It's so ****ing easy, I don't know why NC makes himself look so amateur. FFS.

That's the point. Your speculation that we will miss out on all our targets is based on nothing but a few brain farts clouding your judgement and assessment of the situation. All we can do is follow the latest snippets of info which largely all suggest we are close to signing the player. Not one reputable source has said that Liverpool are now in for him, you've just imagined that. If they did come in now, it may mean that we don't get him but that's no ones fault. And you've completely made up the point about being gazzumped by Utd for the Buttner deal. That deal died a long time ago, Utd and anyone else have been welcome to him for weeks now.

I really don't see us being in that position though. People started to write Fonte off especially towards the end of last season and it's been snow balling ever since. There are worst defenders in the prem for sure. I'm confident we'll get CB's in, one as immediate starter and one as cover, maybe a loan.

To be fair, I think the whole CB panic which has been going on here over the last few weeks is a bit OTT. Jose and Jos showed yesterday that they can be good at the highest level and the club are obviously comfortable for the time being. I'm sure we will have a new CB or two before the deadline but the club are obviously focusing on improving the quality of the squad as a whole.

It's just youthful enthusiasm, it will wear off! Thought we were brilliant and thought Adkins did a great job not letting heads drop . His positivity and composure really rubs off on the players
