  1. Exactly this, how certain people will react to the inevitable frequent defeats will be interesting. I think we all know a certain individual who will be chomping at the bit with his normal foresight and perspective.
  2. Whereas if they had not stated the obvious, and had gone to name more obscure midfield targets, many more people would have been in a right panic because ''WE'RE NOT GOING TO BUY DEFENDERS'' etc. Stating the obvious will allow some of our posters to sleep better at night.
  3. All this bloody obsession over ''premier league experience'' is doing my head in. If you're good enough, then you can play in the premier league. Swansea and Norwich had very little premier league expertise, whereas on the other hand QPR had it at the bucket load. Premier league experience isn't the be all and end all, having a bunch of talented young players who are ambitious and together is more important than premier league experience, and that's what we have. We'll be ok, don't waste your time panicking over silly things like this.
  4. But that was more down to the opposing managers tactical ineptness than anything, why put your smallest player and a full back on the back post? Insane.
  5. fair enough, I was reading their other forums tbh which included the crap about us not being good enough etc.
  6. Not sure we need 2 goalies, but possibly. RB, CB, LB and RM - spot on. We look close to sorting out the RB and LB slots, CB is in the pipleline and I'd imagine we'll sign 2 new CB's. I bet you we'll also sign Zaha as an option on RM.
  7. ''i thought he'd go somewhere better'' ''Southampton! Why bother moving'' ''I thought bigger clubs would be in for him" etc.
  8. To be fair, I'd need the toilet under my seat at St Mary's if Fox was played as a CB in the PL!
  9. 25 imo.
  10. Oh yeh - we'll have the championship select soon enough! Our signings seem to be based on a long-period of scouting, as we've been linked to Clyne for 18 month's/2 years now. Same was the case with Jay Rodriguez, and Tadannari Lee - I expect we've looked at Butner for a long time too. It's just refreshing to see us buying genuinely good players who are better than what we have after a long period of checking them out, not players that just add to the squad and are signed on the back of little work. Man Utd wanted Clyne not so long ago, that was a very valid interest too, so we've pulled off a good one here if it all goes through.
  11. I'm still amazed that people are convinced we aren't looking for defenders. Chill.
  12. I think this guy will be an absolutely outstanding addition, for such a snip too. I love what we're doing in terms of young, talented British/european players. It's refreshing and will serve us so well for years to come. He's quick, skillful and full of energy, he fits the style we like to play superbly. Him and Richardson as our 2 right backs is pretty impressive for next year.
  13. I am amazed at how many seem to think you can only do 1 thing at a time. We have shed loads of staff and agents working on numerous deals at any one time, some may be for backup if a certain signing falls through - but it's silly to think we're doing this one at a time. We'd be here all year if that was the case.
  14. It was actually Nuffield Health Centre in Calenders ford afaik.
  15. I bet you it's someone completely out of the blue.
  16. #swfc close to signing Michail Antonio for fee of around 750k. Also trying to sign Jay Bothroyd and DJ Campbell on season loans 750k is INSANE for Antonio IMO.
  17. Fourth Official ‏@FourthOfficial_ Do they sell Buttner in Southampton? Do love Dutch crunch bread #tasty
  18. That is a stunning signing for them, they clearly are throwing the $$$$ around.
  19. The guy seems a bit of a car crash these days if we're honest, we won't get any comeback from it, the only comback we get is the unfortunate bad press and all the limelight will be on us on our return for the wrong reasons. So thanks for that Claus, you complete baffon. Don't want him associated with this club anymore as far as I'm concerned.
  20. Sounds liek it may be Michu I guess, but I don't really see a position for him now we have Davis tbh, the last thing we want is to overcrowd everthing.
  21. Buttner is a left back though, and I'm not sure what Bolton would have to do with that one. Bolton were also in for a very talented young midfield from Europe a few weeks back, so assuming it's the same one. no idea on the name though
  22. We were apparently looking at a couple of midfielders from Euorpe as a backup to Davis, but once we sorted out Davis we didn't need to pursue them, so I don't think this is a case of missing out. We got our number 1 target I'm sure.
  23. I think in many ways he's had his innings, and the format is getting old for sure and it's time for a change. Whatever you say about him, to hold a breakfast show for 8 years and constantly pull in the listeners is a great effort. He's a bit like marmite, no in between with him, but I kind of liked him and his sense of humour and have had it on my radio for the last 6 years. I can imagine they'll go out with a pretty big bang, so I expect we'll see a country wide tour of sorts again!
  24. Absolutely, the key word being fit though, of which he hasn't been for the last 3 years.
  25. Exactly, there isn't a problem. Not sure what Rangers are achiving with this if I'm honest, they're not making any fans but they're not going to benefit at all themselves. Seems silly.
