Just popped up on twitter, probably crap. Heard from a reliable friend that Jay Rodriguez move to #SaintsFC is OFF ! Regarding doubts over Jay's kne and to be fair, he missed a fair chunk of the 2nd half of the season with an injury, checking back it was his groin.

Your act wasn't funny to start with, it's now just plain annoying.
-
Wouldn't surprise me if it was him, he's always been a bit of a vile character. Perfect for Portsmouth really, which is why he's lasted so long there.
-
A front line of Lambert and Rodriguez will be an absolute nightmare for defenders.
-
The club know what they're doing, don't worry.
-
Don't think we'd have to sweeten anyone up, other than him, as he's a free agent now I believe.
-
Great move for the lad, hopefully he gets regular games for them. Never put a foot wrong for us and never worried me when he was named in the team, great story from where he's come from. Good luck to him.

Yeh that's what I'm trying to get at, he's probably got a contract to sort first....and the medical will probably happen tomorrow, which means an announcement possibly late Friday or early Monday. But I'd be gobsmacked if he's not in Southampton today talking to NC etc.
-
I think it's pretty certain that he's down here today...
-
I don't think we ever got that close with Baldock, not even sure we agreed the fee with Mk Dons. The only player that I can remember who agreed terms, had a medical etc...then ran, was John Halls back in the summer of 2005. There was an article on the OS, pics of him at the training ground etc - then a day or so later he turns up at Reading. Don't think we missed much there seeing as he's turned into a pretty average L2 player.
-
That's sad for Defoe, puts it all into perspective. Can't imagine he'll rejoin the squad now.
-
Doesn't sound like anything is massively imminent (i.e today/tommorow) based on that article.
-
Now I'm hoping that update is that he's actually signed for us..

11pm!

We have another new deadline, tomorrow night.

If he turns down the chance to bring in De Bryune then he's an idiot, because we won't attract any better for a transfer fee. That's all I'm trying to get at, if we want to have a good season next year then we need to get in good players - and De Bryune is a good player and better than we could attract ourselves. Spurs borrow from the top 4 clubs...it happens, and will always happen.
-
I'm losing the will to live tbh.

Nice, looks pretty straight forward if I'm honest. Looking forward to July when I can join in... What's the 'seat' selection part like? Is it interactive as in it shows you the individual seats, or is it just blocks? I'm just going by what i've seen on toher clubs websites, whereby you can select individual seats with your mouse etc.
-
No it wouldn't at all, seeing as they're both totally different players who play in completely different positions.
-
It's all about small steps, and if we're going to turn into this mega club (Which i'm not even going to get into on here) then we'll need the occasional help from a current top 4 club, because they have much better players than we could attract oursevles. That's the whole point. This isn't anything like Falque really, De Bruyne has been proven at international and CL level for a season already. He's top class and well beyond what we could current attract in terms of a full transfer.
-
An outstanding young player is available on loan, in a position which we are short. If there was a chance and we opted against it our scouts deserve to be sacked for not making the recommendation, it's a no-brainer. Then next season, when we're hopefully a bit more established, we can go out and buy a right winger. If money can be saved this season then I'm all for it. As much as I'm all for this 'Southampton way' and building our own team, you cannot turn up opportunities like this.
-
Butland Clyne - Davies - Jos - Fox De Bruyne - Morgan - Cork - Lallana Lambert - Rodriguez just dreaming....

No speculation thread is complete without a youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1haDuOz_x4

It would be a bloody stunning signing if it happens.

Burnley striker Jay Rodriguez is expected to snub Sunderland and Aston Villa and seal a switch to Southampton. The newly-promoted Saints have had a £7million bid accepted for the former England U-21 striker, who hit 21 goals in the Championship last season. Sunderland are also showing an interest and new Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert is a long-time admirer of the 22-year-old. But talkSPORT understands that Rodriguez will sign a four-year deal with Nigel Adkins' side in the next 48 hours, subject to a successful medical. Rodriguez came through the youth ranks at Burnley and, since making his debut in 2007, has hit 41 goals in 128 appearances.
