  1. It's now a 3 horse race, but the enormous pluses we have in our court are: - We're still top - It's in our hands - We have to play Reading - at Home, so we can take points off them. - Reading have to play WHU - so points will be dropped there by one of them. - Reading also still have to play Boro, Brum, Leeds....Hull....(and us obviously). I think we're positioned pretty well.
  2. Doubt it.
  3. Leeds are 2-0 up and Boro look a shambles. They're well out of any automatic race. It's a 3 horse race guys.
  4. We weren't that bad at all. We're winning whilst not playing amazing, not a bad combo. So in my books, and most peoples, there is nothing at all to moan about with this saints team and management setup. It's the best we've had in a long time.
  5. Have a look at Readings run-in. IMO they've timed their run poorly.
  6. Probably just to give him a break, as he wasn't having a great game today.
  7. 84/85 should secure 2nd anything above 85 will win the league.
  8. I thought it was bloody interesting, and it showed up Favio to be an utter knee-jerking, fickle idiot who is better away from any English football team. So interesting to hear their story from a behind the scenes view, and seeing what players actually think of all this chopping and changing. What was also interesting is that no matter how rich they are as individuals, all they were speaking about was cost cutting, selling a player to buy etc.
  9. Solid win. First half was pretty slow and it lacked any real flow, but we still managed to score - which was as route 1 as you'll get tbh. 2nd half was better. We had more confidence in our play and used the space better, but it was helped by Barnsley obviously having to change their tactics slightly - as more space was availiable. Thought Lee was excellent again, he works his arse off - even something you think is a lost cause turns into a corner, or a throw. He's winning so many fans and rightly so. Great to see WHU drop points in a game I expected them to coast, you'd have to say the pressure seems to be getting to them slightly - and when you're playing at home in front of those impatient fans I'm not surprised. Good return of points, now let's do the job in these next 2 away games and we're within touching distance.
  10. Thought he was fine today, took a bit of time to get into the game but he ticked along nicley as it went on. I noticed that if he tried a mental bit of skill, or a pin point pass that didn't quite make it...you'd hear the grumbles and the expletivies against him. Yet if Lallana tried the same and failed in the same way, he'd be applauded. The atmopshere against him is out of order.
  11. He should win it, easily. He's such an all round player. He's not your typical 'lump it up'' centre forward, ala Steve Howard. Hes got technique, touch, a brain and is clever enough to even play in the hole. As an all round player he's just superb and without him we're half the team tbf.
  12. Apparently, yes. Sickos.
  13. Not surprised if that's the case. £200k to an agent for a short-term loan? Greedy fekers.
  14. He looked lost out there. It just passed him by. We were all pretty **** that game though tbf.
  15. They looked quality. Typical spanish team. Quick, nibble, excellent movement and the have the ball strapped to their boots! I thought they were pretty nifty when we played them in pre-season, but they've gone from strength to strength this year.
  16. This.

    losing lead

That was right back at the start of the Pardew era, it was a bloody entertaining game tbh - end to end all night. their winner (Scored by andy williams iirc) was a scorcher...but Harding didn't do great and let him cut in. Lots of positives taken from that game and we went on a run after that iirc.

    losing lead

At home I believe the last time was against Bristol Rovers in 2009. Away from home it was recentley, in the skates away game.
  19. If it's Brian McDermot who wins, then we're promoted
  20. lol @ him. So....Sears, Cole, Piquonne (sp), Maynard, Baldock, Carew, Ward.............they have enough fire power there if managed properlly. The guys a clown.
  21. Great story for Apoel too.
  22. We're very good at comfortably winning games though. I know what sort of results I'd prefer...
  23. I was sat in block 28. Not huge boos, don't get me wrong, but a group of boo's not far away from me. Probably from the same area which contained a bloke who thought Adkins was out of his depth, and we need to replace him if we get promoted - as it will be in 'spite' of him. Genius.
  24. 8 hat-tricks this season too. Just unbeatable. It's not just 'average' spanish teams he's waltzing around either, he's taking the micky out of decent European clubs.
  25. We haven't been in that position too much. .As others have pointed out, we usually have games won by that stage. Our position in the league, goal difference and points return suggests' we've won more than we've lost or thrown away - so I'd suggest there's very little to moan about at the moment. If you're still finding negatives in this situation then I don't think you should follow football.
