i hope Norwich, Leeds and Millwall go up. (don't think we'll make the playoffs) coupled with P'boro, Plymouth and Scunny coming down. Significantly weaker division for next year.
-
how can you forget? it's their support, world class. Worth £30m on it's own. they have taken 320 fans to anfield tonight, what an effort.
-
So who's received their wembley tickets in the post yet?

got mine, block 537 -
there was a lot of talk before Pompey went into admin that another club was on the brink of folding completely, and people were speculating Hull. wouldn't surprise me, they've obviously spent well above their means to get to this position - and without any rich benefactor pumping in the cash, they were always going to crash and burn after a few years.
-
in 18 months we'll be above Hull in league places, so he'd be a bit silly if he did go there. plus they're skint.
-
from a skate on their MB's - ''Hi all, Been asked if I can clarify the situation regarding the exclusivity, the administrator and the £3 million bond so I've made a couple of phone calls in between my work for you. As I said, Andronikou has already met some of the other people working on this deal, and is meeting Rob Lloyd tonight at the Liverpool game. The £3 million bond has been paid and is in the system with the solicitors. Exclusivity starts from tomorrow morning. A lot of things are happening just now, so let's just calm it and let things happen, and see where we are in a couple of weeks once the exclusivity deal is done and we see where we are. Things are looking hopeful though.'' sounds more and more like a pinnacle-esque effort as the day goes on. The same poster has also had a ''meeting'' with the proposed buyers, as is very encouraged by what they have to offer. I'm sorry, but any buyer with any credibility at all does not go having meeting's with fans. I think we found that out - they may have the best interests at heart, but are very often skint. Markus and Nicola just did the deal, didn't involve fans and i also don't think they paid exclusivity. That's what happens when you have the money, you can get a deal done without having to go through weeks and weeks of tosh..

gutted. he'd have done a job for us in the summer, but now you have to fear for his career. very bad injury for someone of his age.
-
serious? anyway, it isn't going to happen. At the most I'd expect the current setup to be built up over the next 5 years. (industrial area knocked down/transport links etc) as i thought, he didn't actually really mention leaving st mary's - it was a question put to him and pushed by the interviewer.
-
nope, he was excellent - but i just accept that as the norm these days! his flick's and headers are always intelligent as well, and his setup play for the goal was very good..
-
not too sure i agree with the final GD!!! we're going to have to go some to get that, have we had another couple of 5-0's in our run in?

Jaidi + Fonte = the new Svensson + Lundekvam ?
S-Clarke replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
a great partnership, long term it isn't the answer though. (sadly) I'd think we will probably manage 1 more season out of Jaidi, but i guess Seaborne is being groomed to take over from him in the long-run. can't say I've seen too much of him to make a judgment though. but at the moment, they are the best CB partnership we've had since the prem IMO - obviously we're a few levels down, but they still have a really good understanding when playing together. -
ah, no worries. we have a billionaire, so there
-
personally i thought that was the perfect sub, we needed a presence up front that would stretch the leeds backline as the game was getting very condensed, and we were being pushed back. by bringing on papa we had pace over the top and down the channels. Barnard was tiring slightly too, felt it wasn't going to be his day today as the ref' took a dislike to him!
-
''Today's 'performance' was absolutely criminal. We were embarrassed by a side who are everything that we're not. Powerful, creative, pacy and very impressive we were absolutely toyed with today, it was laughable''
-
that should have won an oscar.
-
I've had it for a few months, not had any major problems with it. Only that it wasn't installed properly at first.....that took a few weeks to sort out! been solid since though, 50mb full speed 90% of the time.
-
we'll be seeing alot more clean sheets with Fonte at the back he really has taken us up another level.
-
worst ref. for a long long time, in the first half you had to wonder if he'd been plucked out of the street or something. 2nd half he improved a bit (not hard...!) but he really did have a stinker today, no getting away from that. glad it didn't cost us!
-
Great result. First half we were brilliant, should have gone in at least 2-0 up (Barnard with a free header, Punch hitting the post) 2nd half leeds came out and upped it a bit, as you'd expect, but they played very little football which sucked the life out of the game. To be honest most of the balls they played into the box were easy pickings for the outstanding pair of Fonte and Jaidi - i cannot pick a MOTM between those 2, they both get to share it. Leeds surprised me, they were pretty poor - played very little football, and why a premiership club would want to sign beckford is beyond me - looked very poor, and was only interested in diving most of the time. and what on earth has happened to Mcshefery! i remember when he took the **** when he was playing for Brum against us a few seasons ago, looks a shadow of that player. Final note on the ref, who was completely shocking first half. If he's dropped down a league to ref this match, then the standard of refering above is pretty poor. At least he didn't have a clanger which cost us the win though, all in all a happy night - not a great result day in terms of the other teams, but we're still on for a very decent 8th - 10th placed finish.
-
Not going to happen unfortunately, if we were going to break in we needed to win when the others slipped up. (they've not done that much this season) but they all did when we lost to tranmere....so that was where it ended for me.
-
they can easily push the capacity up to 45k (according to minimee's designs on this thread) and im sure a little bit of Markus's cash can buy up the industrial and salt work areas
-
let's just wait and see what he's actually said before we start saying things like that. it was like a 5 second snippet on solent, i didn't' hear it - and not many others did. Perhaps having it played out in context today will put a better picture to it.
-
the support is here, if we are winning games most weeks we will sell out, or come close to selling out. As has been shown in L1 this season.... the MK Dons JPT game...highest ever semi final attendance. I think cortese recognises that the support is here. I've always imagined a stadium extension could be on the cards (esp. after the plans for staplewood) - not too sure how I'd like a re-location though, seems a bit radical when there is alot that can be done with the current site.
-
can we resurrect HelpMeRhonda's designs? we can forward them onto Cortese it's the only way forward.
-
it'll be interesting to actually hear what Cortese has to say tomorrow, when it's played out in full. - possibly when there is a bit more context to it! If he can come up with those ambitious plans for staplewood, then I'm sure he's also looking at stadium development. I'm not pivvy to the situation with the buildings around the stadium, but the salt works opposite the entrance would present a fantastic opportunity to buy up and build a waterfront area. same with the industrial buildings around the chapel side - could look much better than it does atm. heck, paint the gas container red and white too
