Cortese strikes me as quite an impatient and stubborn guy though, esp. with his reactions to the echo. At the end of the day he's probably persuaded Markus to release a big wedge of money for L1, on the premise that we'll give the playoffs a good crack, but in reality we never got close.

to have a chance we had to pretty much win all our remaining games, and hope for some slip ups. It ended today. I'm not too bothered about not going up this year, as Pardew has said ''another year of winning will do no harm'' - it should be a great laugh next year.
