We need another CB and a real top top quality (For this level anyway) Defensive midfielder.
-
The playoffs were always a long shot, let's push on and finish the season in the top half, looking at the bigger picture that would be decent IMO.
-
That's where the word perspective comes in. Some people get too carried away with a few wins and some people get too carried away with dropped points. At the end of the day, we're somewhere in the middle - but we'll keep improving from now on.

That was a great game to watch, but i felt Norwich had more control of it in the 2nd half and looked much more of a threat pushing forward. We held on well in the end (i thought Murt's stopped their wideman getting in behind with his positioning) but trotts was iffy again, let's too many balls bounce and is way too indecisive and rash with his distribution. Lambert was quiet again i felt, but Connolly was excellent. His movement and flicks were brilliant to watch and his goal was a beauty - his fitness is improving massively as well - he's going to be a big big player for us. Overall a good draw against a good team - we could have easily lost that in the last 10mins, but we held on well. Hartlepool will be tough, but we have to go there now and win.

Yeah - it's not displayed on sky properly yet, but with the new EPG you can just add it into ''other channels'', so it's still pretty accessible. check this guide... http://www.tellytoad.com/page/itv-hd-on-sky-hd.aspx

i think you can forget about the swindon game, that's something which is never going to happen again. even pard's holds his hands up to that one now. I think we only had defenders/midfielders on the bench for that game...not much opportunity to change a demotivated first team. (which they were at that point..) I think it's impressive to see how far we've actually come since then, it wasn't that long ago really. I think it opened pard's eyes to the complete lack of quality and pretty much ended saganowski's future here.
-
I think the fact he is still here indicates that there is very little, if no interest in him at all. The fact that pard's has said both the club and himself are actively looking for clubs, kinda suggests he's struggling to find a new employer... sad really, an ex-polish international and recent world cup player. In a way he needs to look at himself and his attitude tbf.

He always speaks sense, something which took me back slightly when he first joined. I mean come on...a saints manager, talking sense? never happens. i miss the days of ''the boysh did well''
-
We have barley dropped any points with the team pardew has put together. our poor defeats and drab draws came when he was forced to play the likes of Perry, Patterson, Saganowski, jake thompson, lancashire... now he has his team, we have barley stuttered - bar last sunday. have a think before you post.

2018 World Cup bid - Time for Saints to step in
S-Clarke replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
as far as i know their stadium will only have a capacity of 22k. -
His transfer was almost as protracted as Skacels, remember when leicester tried to hijack it? after all that, he only scored 2 goals all season! very much a player who came accross as the sort who thrives in confident, winning environments...but isn't there to stand up and be counted when the going get's tough.

why do people post such complete woffle.
-
Elliott ward would be a FANTASTIC signing.....on his day one of the best defenders in the championship, always been a fan of his since his days at West Ham. Better that trotman too IMO....def. too good for L1 level whatever happens.
-
i agree with you, there is alot of work to be done on this team to get us even close to the likes of Leeds. I'm not talking in terms of first team quality...more squad depth and a settled working team formation. when they go up this year i fully expect them to do a Leicester tbh, if they keep hold of beckford that is. That is what we need to do, as it's been shown - build a good team at L1 level, win most weeks and you'll go into the championship being able to compete with the top 6 teams.
-
No chance, he's not going anywhere. He'll be here for the rest of his career now.
-
If he wants to sit in their reserves, fair enough. Would be a great chance for him to catch up with bale to see how he's getting on though. FWIW i don't even think he's good enough for spurs. He's a decent player, don't get me wrong - but he's got alot to do if he's going to ever be a regular in a top 6 team.
-
hand of ****ing god from henry - blatant. he passed it into the box with his hand ffs 2-1 to france
-
I don't think we'll ever see holmes play for us again tbh. It's quite interesting that the players we considered to be the better ones last year (Holmes/Gillet etc) have been deemed not good enough for us...quite a frightening indictment of last year methinks.
-
He's a decent championship player, from how i remember him. Don't think he's that old? so should do a job for us at L1 level. Leeds wanted him in the summer, but he failed a medical. Wasn't he at Luton alongside Steve Howard/Rowan vine?
-
Don't see the point. Harding is one of the best LB's in the league and Mills is good enough back up for that. heck...we even have Molly if worst comes to worst. Would be a pointless signing unless both mills and Molly are leaving.
-
if we do - i'd put Connolly and antonio to the bench, bring on Papa and (if fit enough) Murty. Stick Lloydy in the midfield and push hammond and morgan into advanced positions.
-
I agree, alot of focus is put on ''which formation wins us games'' - but IMO, if you have the players with enough quality, you'll win enough games anyway - regardless of the formation.
-
Impressive. was quite a strong bristol city team, a few of the players were act. in the team that beat us at St Mary's last season...
-
completley spot on - it was identical to the rovers game in that sense, where harding was up against it as Lallana wasn't ''glued'' to the left. Playing 4-4-2 needs 2 out and out wingers, who are disciplined enough to hold their positions. If they go walk abouts then that's when the space opens up.
-
I'd like to buy a top defensive midfielder in january, someone who's built like a brick house. That is what we lack at the moment IMO. we played ok when morgan and hammond were allowed to advance forward, but when one is needed to sit - we loose something, as neither are in that ''DM'' mould IMO.
