  1. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1250668/DES-KELLY-Portsmouth-cheats-let-wall.html is that the one you mean?
  2. birmingham will do them with ease, based on what i saw yesterday.
  3. If he was going to move to a championship club, i believe he would have done by now. He had the chance in the summer, with boro interested. As some have said above, most championship clubs are having to reduce their budgets - so i don't believe anyone will throw 2.5-3m on a player, who at 27, is yet to prove himself outside of the bottom 2 divisions. I know he'll probably go on and score in a level above as well, but in this day and age clubs aren't going to gamble that amount of money away. He is safe with us for next year.
  4. you're right, the PL will help them out. God help their lovely little league being given a bad image.
  5. just watched an interview with storrie, he praises the ''EPL'' for their support and confessed that they will help where they need to. WTF? why on earth do they deserve help? why do they deserve any support at all, ever? they got into this situation because of bad management - and they should not be given a helping hand to get out of it. makes me sick, and in some ways makes me glad to be out of the PL - such a murky league.
  6. he was great today as everyone has said - it wasn't just his technical ability which impressed me, it was his continuous harassing of their midfield - he won the ball off players like Diop and Basinas time after time. I still think we'll keep him in the summer as well, i can't see a prem. club going for him just yet - and not many CCC clubs will be able to meet the price we want, so i think he'll stay on this journey with us.
  7. It's a long shot, we will need to win pretty much every week from now on to even scrape in.
  8. nasty, nasty football club. next season they will be ****ed, because their best players aren't even theirs.
  9. twas a fantastic bit of play by him, we need to see more of that. I think that was a fantastic save by James though tbh - lallana didn't do too much wrong.
  10. I can understand why he does take the set-pieces, it's an interesting ploy and our corners have been much better since he's been taking them. (last 2 games anyway) but then you're right in a way, you have the situation where the ball falls to players like Jaidi, Papa in the box...and not Lambert. (which is what we saw today) Id' mix it up a bit personally, i wouldn't have him on the set-pieces all the time - but he is an interesting option to use as he's got such quality on his delivery.
  11. their support was a joke in all honesty, i forgot they were there half the time. We out-sung them with ease.
  12. Very proud, our club was shown in a good light today - we were the better team in that first half, and without their loan players they would be out of the FA Cup. The likes of quincy, O'hara and Dindane - were the difference , and they're not even theirs
  13. what's the point in over-analysing it?? it's simple - we were beaten because of their pace and finishing, not because of a tactical error or a players mistake. They have much better players than us, end of - once we were in a position where they could hit us on the break, we were in trouble. That is why we are 2 divisions apart (even though it pains me to say it)
  14. Good effort by the lads, there's no point in over-analysing it in the end - we were beaten by superior fitness, pace and finishing - which is why they're premiership players, and we have league 1 players - that is the difference. The heart, effort and attitude was right today - i couldn't fault it, but we lacked that composure at the crucial time - everything seemed to fall to Lallana and Papa! O'hara might be a little **** - but he was the best player on the pitch in the 2nd half, without him and the pace of the attack they have nothing (and they're all on loan...) At least we have prospects with a bright future - it hurts like **** at the moment, but this will just be a hollow victory for them - you wait till we meet them in a year or so...the outcome will be totally different.
  15. that is brilliant tractor!
  16. i'm sure leeds said the same when they went to Old Trafford.
  17. They just keep prolonging the inventible don't they? Ok - so they take £11m now...great, that may get them through for now...but then they get relegated, and they get no parachute payments (or not as much) - what then? Short-term fixes galore - although I guess it'll be much more fun to see them crash and burn in the FL. there's no one to help you out down there...
  18. apparently he's still ''awaiting'' clearance from spurs
  19. it's 12:30 - 100%
  20. the southend game a few years back had an exciting buildup, but i guess looking back at it now, it was rubbish that we were even playing to scrape into the playoffs with that team.
  21. Wow, he's in line for some stick. If that's the attitude others take, then it could be easy pickings for us - they won't know what's hit them. That’s the bonus for us - they have a lot of foreign players who really don't know about the rivalry, or couldn't care less (as it seems, from dindane). Although we haven't got lots of ''Southampton'' lads in our team, they are primarily British and understand what a rivalry means.
  22. the gulf will not be that big, trust me - there will be little gulf visible on the day, the fa cup magic and the fact that it's a derby will put pay to that. Look, as someone else eluded to above - we pushed Birmingham to the end when we had a significantly weaker team - and they're miles better than portsmouth.
  23. basically (my take on it) the judge agreed that they were illegally trading whilst insolvent. ...but they have been given 7 (working) days to produce financial documentation, on a) a secure/definite takeover or b) actually pay up the remaining HMRC. It was also confirmed that they owe more than Pompey claimed. Pompey said they only owe 7.5m...but the judge confirmed it is actually 11.5m! if they don't come up with the goods in 7 days, that really is it - the judge has done them in a favour in many ways and has already agreed they are insolvent. I feel though that this 7 days will give them a lifeline and will allow them to secure the takeover that they need. They'll be relegated..that's for sure, but they'll be ok after that IMO.
  24. they've been given a lifeline...and i can't see them throwing this away. can see them being taken over by someone with money in the next week, who will pay off their debts and settle the HMRC - they'll go down, but that's as bad as it'll get now IMO.
  25. It has been confirmed that portsmouth are insolvent....
