  1. ahh...that wasn't in the echo earlier. all you had was the writing above it and 1 sentence from pards “He’s a workmanlike midfield player.'' so they've obviously just updated it so it makes more sense!
  2. Well they may have found the money by now, but it's still a very close call (again). TBH i just think they're delaying the inevitable, they should just take the 9 point hit now and have done with it.
  3. Rumour has it that the wages could be delayed again this month too (due friday...) oh and their new owner won't be able to make it to the game on Saturday, due to ''middle eastern'' commitments. Probably looking for a get out clause somewhere.
  4. i think that's the funniest bit of it all tbh
  5. They owe money to Watford (for the Williamson transfer), Chelsea (% of Johnson sell on fee) and Arsenal (Diarra sell on fee). But it's all ok, no need to panic skates - a club source has confirmed on SSN that these issues will be resolved shortly, they have the money, but it's just down to a restructuring at the club that these issues have occurred. Excellent.
  6. I saw that, no idea what that article is about. There is 1 sentence in the entire article from pards - where he is actually praising him. What's that about? slow news day imo!
  7. fair enough...didn't realise he'd featured so regularly this year but i just remember him disappearing into obscurity a few months after he went there in his first season.
  8. If they go into administration after the 2nd week in march.. A)...and they end up avoiding relegation, then the 10pts are carried over to the current season. So possibly relegating them anyway, if they survive by less than 10 pts. B) If they are down anyway - the points carry over the following season, like us. Stockport went into admin just before march, so got the points that current season. Same will happen to southend, they will get an immediate points deduction. but yeah i agree - it's a mess. (blame leeds though, they tried to manipulate the rules and the FA made these changes...)
  9. true - as well as the £5m loan Faraj has already taken out to fund last months wages. All gambled on the assumption that they'll be in the premiership next year, excellent work. By January i reckon they'll be in admin.
  10. another one... Chris Baird. does he even play for fulham anymore? silly move. The fee was good - but it was engineered by his desire to leave.
  11. Gareth Bale.... he could have been a star here, but he moved for the glitz and glamor and is now a regular fixture in their reserves.
  12. It's only a 15m loan though. It's to tide them over and pay this months wages and HMRC, until they can sell the club on. Apparently they need to sell within 8 weeks or they go into admin, as they have so many loans taken out against different parties - it all needs paying back at some point... Bizarre goings on.
  13. Confirmed on OS http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1838969,00.html ...looks like it may turn into a permanent deal too, according to the local paper down there ''TORQUAY United have signed Southampton winger Jake Thomson on loan. The signing was due to be completed on Tuesday. Thomson, 20, is joining the Gulls for a month initially, with a view to an extension and possibly a permanent deal.''
  14. forgot about them...yep they do. What an amazing job Howe has done down there though, they have a squad of like 13 professionals - they even had to resort to having their assistant manager playing in midfield...and they're still top of the league.
  15. Stockport - who are still in admin as far as i know? If it drags on much longer then the league could hit more deductions on them. Leyton Orient have been struggling for a few years, millwall aren't exactly flush with cash and i don't think Tranmere are that far from admin either. bit of a mess in these lower leagues - and it's not really down to overspending either. Then you look up at clubs like portsmouth (a fine example at the moment) who overspend beyond their means, have had 2 owners already this season and there is talk of another...and still haven't had any punishment.
  16. http://www.southendunited.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10444~1838744,00.html Chairmans statement. I quite like southend, i'd never wish admin on anyone tbh - we were bloody lucky, but could have so easily been starting in the blue square.
  17. I heard about that... we'd actually move up a place too, as Southend would drop into the bottom 4 on 7 pts.
  18. +1
  19. That van persie fella looks quite handy, him and Vela on loan in january please pards.
  20. I'd get rid of Saga and bring in Barnard from Southend, they're subject to a winding up order on Wednesday, so would snap our fingers off for 200-500k. i'd then go and bring in a DM...depends on the positions of the teams and if Charlton have tailed off or not, but i wouldn't be surprised to see us go in for Racon at Charlton. ...oh and obviously either extending the loan or buying trotts.
  21. Oldknow and i think(?) Wilkins was there too (oddly, oldknow was next to Tony adams), it panned to them right at the start. ..and btw, don't reading remind you of us last season? so many similarities in results/style of play.
  22. I think that box has been gone for a few months. Haven't seen them around for a while....i think Leon has an interest in Eastleigh now though.
  23. I hope trotts is looking at the longer term situation...and doesn't just jump back to PNE to play at a higher level. ...PNE are skint and could go into administration any time soon, to possibly avoid that they will have to start selling off their better players, which will = league 1. I can see a few sticky years coming up for preston....but i can see it being alot more comfortable here, with a chance of genuine silverware.
  24. I think he'll be here for a long time, even if we don't go up this year (which is still a long shot btw) It's not up to players to decide they want to go, or other clubs to dictate anymore. He's our player and unless an unbelievable offer comes in - he will remain our player. Markus has not bought this club to see it's best players sold off after every remotely successful year. Adam has got a ticket to the premiership here - and he can play a key part in getting us there.
  25. He'll get lots of mentions from me. my favorite player at the moment, he's everything you want from a midfielder.
