I meant prior to Saturday. People are talking as if we've lost 6 in a row.
-
He'll be gone to a big club in the summer. He's unplayable when he's on his game, which is getting more and more regular.
-
But if they won tonight and won well, I'm sure you'd still be saying they're now dangerous, they're a different side etc. I'm happier they've had a thrashing, a big dent on their GD and confidence and a key player missing for the rest of the season. Basically, they're still a **** side. That hasn't changed and won't change in the next 3 games.
-
Of course they will show form they've not shown all season. And so will Newcastle, Norwich, Sunderland and Villa.
-
I agree, I can't see us getting anything at a Sunderland side who have just lost 6-1. They looked amazing tonight and have looked unbeatable all season. Every team below us are amazing, and we are completely ****.
-
What was wrong with the performance at Swansea out of interest? I thought we looked ok, away at a side who have been pretty imperious at home. The fact is that we've lost 1 game after going 6 unbeaten. It's no big deal and there's no real drama around it. If I was a wigan fan on a wigan forum i'd expect these threads, but I think most sane football supporters over the land will see tonight's results as plunging Wigan nearer the door.

Norwich 0 - 0 Liverpool 3-1 Chelsea 2-1 Reading 2-0 West Ham 1-1 Swansea 0-0

Yep, after 6 games unbeaten, where on earth has it all gone wrong? Everything you specify as a ''reason'' to support your argument is rumour, conjecture and made up rubbish. And how can you say we're not in control of our destiny? We have both hands, legs and feet wrapped around our destiny. Seriously, drama queens. The lot of you.
-
But you continuously run them down, as a matter of principle.
-
We weren't even included in their ''relegation battle'' table at the end.
-
Maths possibly isn't his strong point. So yes, safe.
-
So are Norwich, Villa, Newcastle and Wigan. And we will lose all of our games by 4 goal margins.
-
We also play Sunderland away and Stoke at home. There are points in both of those games. Not sure why we've suddenly become a team who can finish top 10 after going 6 games unbeaten, to a team who cannot get another point this season. Yet all the teams below us suddenly become world beaters and show top 6 form, which they haven't shown all season. Because that's what will need to happen.

I've just stuck a tenner on saints to get relegated

Nice one. Thanks for sharing. You'd think we've lost the last 6 games based on some of the pessimism on here. Weird mindsets. We were always going to lose another game, big deal. -
We'll still have enough to get something even if we play bad, they're no great shakes. A 1-1 or 0-0 would do us quite nicely.
-
And that's 5. Crikey. Goodnight Wigan.
-
If you're pessimistic you'll think like that, but this is how they've been for the majority of the season. Sluggish in midfield, out paced at the back and well beaten by teams who show a bit of imagination and pace. Still believe we'll win and win well if we play as we can, see no reason why we can't. And now they've lost Sessengen as well.
-
Don't you realize, 1 result makes a season. Apparently we're now ****.
-
Sunderland have forgotten how to play tonight, they are complete turd. Not sure why some think it's a guaranteed defeat up there. If we play anywhere near we can then we'll win. They still have the slow, predictable midfield and the cumbersome back 4. Villa are proving this tonight with a little bit of movement and pace in the final third, it's making them look like a shambles.
-
Sunderland will probably score 1 or 2 more, but this is why i fancy Villa instead of Wigan. They can, and will score goals. Always a threat which is a big weapon to have.
-
Personally, I think this result sends Wigan to the brink.
-
Wigan must be kicking themselves tonight, they've had a couple of last minute throw aways recently. They're on the brink after this.
-
Great hit by Vlarr although it's now 1-1.
-
Would agree with that. He was one of our highest assisters last year, think he got 17 or 18 assists? may be slightly OTT with that, but it wasn't too far from that. Never really had many bad games for us, isn't anything special but is reliable, professional and would do a job if called upon between now and then. People forget that we had the likes of Telfer, Makin, Neileson at one point as our RB options. Let's think ourselves lucky we have a proper RB there!

A draw wouldn't be the end of the world tbh.
