Where would you build your prisons? On green belt land? We should be building more homes, hospitals and schools long before we should be building prisons. CCTV in this country just adds to the PURELY ILLUSIONAL feeling of safety that is an offshot of the society of fear that the tabloids have whipped up. "There are more CCTV cameras, we MUST be more safe?"..."We have built more prisons, therefore there MUST be less criminals to worry about".

Granted, as of yet, the BNP have not tried to overthrow the government like the Nazi's did intially, they are pursuing power through legal means...just like the Nazi's did when they realised they could seize power. Furthermore, the German nation was suffering terrible financial hardship due to the terms of the Treaty of Versailles: Hyper-Inflation, starvation, mass unemployment. Now, in Britain we obviously don't have hyper-inflation or starvation, but the fragile economic climate is akin to that to which the Nazi's manipulated the voter's minds with.

Not at all. But it always highlights just how messed up capitalism is as a system. The "I'm alright Jack" society at it's best. Anyway, back to point of this thread originally. I have said it before and will say it again. The Tories only look out for themselves: The people who have wealth. 'Dave' should just cut to the chase and say "Sod the rest of you, us earning more than 20k-30k a year will be fine."
