I remember when I flew to Oz back in April and there were babies on that flight, and they screamed the plane down for at least 20 out of the 23 hours. Initially I was angry but then I saw the parents and they looked like they had been dragged through hell and back and I felt really quite sorry for them. Anyway, not so much of a problem now, I just switch on my noise cancelling headphones.

Agreed, there was a news item on Sky News (bearing in mind they are run by the same guy who owns Fox, America's right wing TV outlet) about how people in Washington DC are having to ring the FIRE BRIGADE as they can get free basic health care from them as the residents are so poor.
