I have edited my comments in order to absolve myself from any slander/libel. Although an e-mail was recieved, I am becoming increasingly sceptical that it may have been a hoax. After a fellow teacher on here brought certain facts/points to my attention, I have a feeling that it may have been someone on a wind-up. As the email did not end with gtce.org.uk I should have guessed, but in a panic was not thinking rationally. Nevertheless, colleagues did advise me and so I'm still going to stand by my actions.

I'm allowed to take part in the march, they just 'advised' me that I should no longer be 'in charge'.

Colleagues have advised me thatthe national coverage this group, and therefore I, had recieved via Sky Sports News was in danger of potentially threatening my career as a teacher. Their reasons for this being that parents may consider these actions I am taking to be unprofessional and therefore potentially harmful to the education their children would recieve and the GTC could take action. After speaking with my Head of Department and the Headteacher, I have decided to step down as 'creator' of this group and I am withdrawing from any admin/officer role. Connor, who is doing a fantastic job, will now be in charge of this protest and any requests etc should go to him.

Anyone who has the balls to 'go back to the scene of the crime' and then stick two fingers up (in a way) at the locals is a legend, regardless of what you on your high horse may think

It does seem weird that after only a few days after Jan said he was going to double his efforts (or words to that effect) he then mysteriously resigns.

We are still waiting to hear back from the Police regarding the route, but if we don't get permission, as you say, surely the whole 'freedom of assembly' applies, and I believe Crouch has been contacted.

I have always had a feeling that Lowe would appoint Wotte as coach at some point anyway. He tried to do this a few years ago I think? For what its worth, I feel a bit sorry for Jan: Nice bloke, just wasn't up for the job. Hopefully appointing Wotte now encourages a few more of the "I'm not going to protest, what is the point" lot to come out in solidarity with the rest of us and stop being so apathetic.

I can't believe the apathetic nature of some people on here (or maybe I can). As someone has already mentioned, all it takes for evil to succeed is for men to do nothing. With the attitude of "It won't make any difference" how the hell are you supposed to succeed in ANYTHING?! It is ridculous to compare Lowe and Wilde to the Nazis, but thank god some of the posters on here were not in charge of Britain when the Germans appeared on the horizon: "They've invaded France, there is nothing we can do about them invading here within the next few months, never mind...where is the nearest pub?" Also I'll be intrigued to know if those sceptics (sp?) will eat humble pie if they are proved wrong? At least some of us are doing something.
