Great result which sends out the message that Saints are on the march upwards again. Just got to keep the momentum going.

Thats a good and interesting read.I'm aware of the growth of the 'commercial away kit',but was not aware of the rule - presumably instigated by the kit manufacturers rather than the league - that each kit must be worn 6 times. It always seemed farcical to me that Forest would wear a change strip of white at The Dell, yet Leeds or Spurs felt compelled to change from white to yellow.

Isn't Harry Harris out of the same London drinking school as another 'arry?
-
Some excellent research there. You've left out the Daily Express 5-a-side tournament. I have a recollection that we won it c1973 whilst wearing our amber and black away shirts.

Interesting read.Lets not forget how WGS is lauded for getting to a cup final. AP was within seconds of actually winning the trophy. A WHU fan I know locally was of the opinion that AP resented having the two Argie players thrust on him without prior agreement and that their introduction upset the dressing room. As for Charlton, many managers have one club to tarnish their record - Clough at Leeds for example - where it simply does not work,or they may not be 'right' for the club in particular circumstances. Sorry to say, that outside of Southampton, many football fans rate Red****t as an outstanding manager, success everywhere, apart from us, (albeit at a price...).

Sunday night TV isn't what it used to be obviously.

And where does that come from ? Just seen your second post.

John Rudge is the ex Port Vale manager isn't he? No wonder it works well for them then, he's got a wealth of football experience, contacts in the game and is not so high a profile - or an egotist - to cast a shadow across Pulis.

Who is their DoF?
-
Simon Clifford? Now theres an interesting shout !

I read on an Argyle forum that he "couldn't settle" and wanted to be nearer London. No idea if its true of course. A poster suggested if he joined us then this would show this to be rubbish and that it was an excuse.Someone else pointed out the respective distances between London and both Southampton and Plymouth.

I thought he was rambling, trying to dress up the situation to draw AP on "issues" outside the particular game. On the other hand perhaps his questions were fine and I'm just guilty of reading too much about various parties "agendas" on here.
-
My interpretation also. On the way to the MK match,Solent said they would be broadcasting an interview with AP later which they described as him sounding "eggy" with the interviewer on the topic of NC's reported comments. I didn't hear the broadcast, perhaps some of you did,but I wonder if it was the same tone of rambling question trying to draw AP on issues that brought about the("eggy" ?) response. It might also be the same interviewer,in which case you can understand AP's reaction with some terse replies whilst thinking "oh,god no,this bloke is a knob"

Priority No1:RB Then: Another CB to last the season as Jaidi won't and I doubt Perry will remain beyond this season.(depending on how Seaborne and the Eastleigh lad shape up. In addition to that another quality MF - Stock.(I expect Lallana and/or Schneiderlin to leave if we don't go up.). If AP has the time and Marcus is prepared to release more dosh then a young GK as KD's long term replacement.
-
AP was not one of the names seriously touted around much prior to his appointment but was as good as we could have expected and better than most names mentioned. He had little time for preparation, started the season on -10 whilst clearing the decks to rebuild. AP has the gravitas to attract better players, and has made good signings. No doubt in my mind he deserves the summer to complete the job for next seasons onslaught.

Why the edit ?

Probably just an age thing, but reading that did make him sound like an advert for Slimline bread ! But agree he is certainly a class above in this division(and the one above as well,as we hope to find out in the next season or so).

Ditto x2.

None of whom would be a better option than Pardew in my opinion.
-
Hope you are wrong. Palace are in administration for christ sake, that is far from an atttractive proposition,"spiritual home" or not.
-
Had a similar thought on him recently and the likelihood of us staying in L1.Slight concern, if as expected, Colin W^nker takes over at QPR he will no doubt seek to bring in players he's found reliable at Palace.Fonte is likely to be one of them. Hope Fonte has realised, like most people in football already know, that CW is a tool.
