  1. Thats not to say the name wasn't just 'borrowed' of course.
  2. googled : https://secure.creditgate.com/search/search.aspx?directorsurname=Dias&directorfirstname=Alistair&searchby=postcode&AdditionalSearch=W13+8HX&IsDirectorSearch=1 Click for Advanced Search Please click on the selected name to see the available reports: ALISTAIR JEREMY DIAS EALING W13 8
  3. Were the backers named in that proposal ? Was the conversation with MLT before or after the Fialka fiasco ? I was staggered when Fialka was wheeled out, what on earth was Lynam thinking of putting that berk forward as our potential saviour ?At that point Pinnacle's remaining credibility - MLT or not - hit the rocks.
  4. Yes,exactly. I thought this name was dreamt up by someone on here.So does this clown really exist ? I still find it incredible that Pinnacle were able to get past the 'proof of funds' stage.Once that was accomplished then there would be no reason for Fry not to assume they could proceed although the Crouch intervention clearly was a warning sign.
  5. Say you want to spend the entire day waiting news of a Saints new signing. Failing that then go along with some the above comments,ie don't want to spend the day in a place full of benders,
  6. Good play-off semi then ?
  7. Wasn't he the subject of a Scots disco song a few years ago ? Murdoch on the dancefloor ? As we seem to know f^ck all about him,it seems less likely that anyone can name any gems our new scout has unearthed. But there is no telling the info some on here can come up with.
  8. Norwich and Leeds are the most obvious contenders as I see it. I also think Huddersfield will do well as they seem to have strengthened.
  9. They must have a Lifelonglivi circling around though. Seriously though,I hope they survive. (Remember when they were Meadowbank Thistle),
  10. Bastard. When I complained about a late delivery the other week he said he was doing Devon first now,as apparently I'm the only delivery up her now;Rupert has cancelled his order.
  11. Thanks. The delivery boy is still cycling up to Gloucestershire and hasn't delivered my copy yet.
  12. Don't know anything about the bloke really. Not ecstatic on first seeing the name but given your knowledge of him and a reasonable track record at our current level it seems a reasonable appointment. Wonder what happened re Dillon, and Downes. I was never entirely comfortable with Dillon given his Skate past etc but just hope this appointment has not just been made as we are just cutting the cloth etc. Where does the Stuart Murdoch, whoever he might be, info come from? Not seen this elsewhere.
  13. Probably four. Two advising from the treatment table, one to do it and another to talk to the Echo about how they understand the fans frustration at losing another light bulb, but this one will be much better this week.
  14. Could he also be included in the animal names, as in 'Chicken' George ?
  15. No, he'd be a flour.
  16. Souness tried to sign Mike Marsh.
  17. One of the most remarkable names of a Saints player ever is Herbert Dainty.
  18. On a not dissimilar theme,I was recently going through the names of footballers from my childhood with my two young avid Saints fans. As an observation many changes in christian name over the last 40 years on the teamsheets and collected football cards. Teams always comprised a couple of 'Bobby's', Bob, or even a Rob, but not Robbie or Roberto . Ali was an abbreviation of Alistair not a distant cousin of George Weah. Stan,Stanley,Norman, often featured on the opponent's team sheet. When was the last 'Albert' seen ?(cue obvious double entendres). Several Ron's,although only one as far as I was concerned in the 1960's. Not a Dean,Wayne or Kyle to be seen anywhere. Obviously just a reflection of social change but noticeable none the less.
  19. Is this the bloke who used to play for Eastleigh? If so he was highly rated at one time and earmarked for a trial with Saints during WGS time. He had a trial at Bristol Rovers but nothing came of it.We assumed because of offers at Saints but WGS left and it appeared that the player had fallen off the radar altogether.
  20. who is of course now a players agent,so could be .
  21. Some school's and possibly even LEA's banned them some years ago following a publicised injury on a playing field where someones knee was 'sliced' open by this type of boot.
  22. No worse than Channon playing there. Simple fact is he played for us at his prime when he was one of the best gk's in Europe. Now he's 37 and coming out of retirement he might play for them.Says it all about the relative merits of the two clubs over the last fecade. Actually I think we might need one of those as well.
  23. Interesting though isn't it ,that such issues were not an obstacle for him at either Reading or West Ham ? (or not until he had Tevez and his mate dumped on him at West Ham anyway). Not doubting your mate's perception of what went wrong at Charlton, but sometimes these issues are used to explain away a downturn whereas perhaps - taking into account his success elsewhere - the truth is more brutal, ie he inherited a crap squad in decline.
  24. Is Ashley Cole then ?
  25. Is this the same Mr Chelsea-Terry that was on his way to Highbury the week before Abramovitch arrived at Stamford Bridge ?
