  1. Thank you. The FA also thought Steve McLaren was a better choice for England manager than O'Neill or Scolari.
  2. No, but I love a good rumour. Please do feel free to spread it.
  3. Don't be such a plank. That challenge didn't even warrant a yellow card and you know it. Well done, you got a response.
  4. Loved watching him - just a shame he got injured all the time.
  5. Sorry Robsk, you were right. It was only the raving idiots that didn't appreciate Oakley.
  6. God knows why he's not in the list. Would be nice to be given a clue but, ho-hum.
  7. I thought he used to get quite a bit of stick on here (well, one of its previous guises).
  8. Oakley.
  9. He is chief scout at the Masserati. Don't forget that.
  10. Yes, exactly. But there would be nothing in it for Barclays if that happened. Better to work with us (as they are doing) whilst imposing a cap. I just wanted to make the point that it is not accurate to portray the bank as having its finger on the "administration" button as though it some sort of easily exercisable, nothing-to-lose option for it. It would be a last resort to force us into administration for practical business reasons, irrepsective of whether there are additional PR considerations by virtue of the borrower being a well-known local institution.
  11. Not true. Norwich Union, the major secured creditor are still being paid what they are owed. No point them trying to wind us up. Barclays - are they even a secured creditor? Even if they are they will have a subordinated priority position. No point them demanding repayment of the overdraft. The most likely people to place the club into administration are not the banks, they are the directors.

Then frankly, your opinion is worth with a pinch of salt. IMO.
  13. So who played in the "hole" (cough) yesterday?
  14. Spaghetti does not drip. Sauce may drip off it. What dullard wrote this nonsense?
  15. Fair to middling.
  16. Exactly. It just confirms the point that the academy is not a foundation on which to build a succesful football club. Now, if every other club goes up the creek financially and has to do the same then it might be a competitive strategy.

    I prefer Briefcase Barry.
  18. I heard he needs to devote more time to his IRA commitments.
  19. Good points. Of our typical starting 11, the academy usually provides about 4 players. If it was a constant stream of players of adequate capability this figure ought presumably to be higher.
  20. I agree. It is surpirsingly banal for a Lowe dissemination. Maybe he is learning after all....?
  21. I predict Part 2 will refer to the Academy at some point.
  22. So at that point, if discussions were succesful, to whom are the shares sold and where does the money come from? Tom Mcloughlin and Gregg in the hope that they can sell on again one day for a profit? Sounds like an awful risk for a middle manager in a two-bob leasing company. If Gregg was interested, a man with a track-record of investment in football, why not cut out the enormous plonker of a middle man and conduct a professional approach using, er.... professionals? If Lowe, Wilde or Crouch gave that person the time of day then it is quite staggering.
  23. Similar to Lowe and Cowen's £563,000 the first time round?
  24. Pedant alert: Norwich Union.
