August 2009 - The aftermath of relegation and administration
charliemiller replied to Mole's topic in The Saints
Really be careful what you wish for Stanley ..... If the club did go into Administration it would surely enter it with a pre-pack agreemnt negotiated by the incumbent board , as the debts are mostly to Barclays as Avivia has security on its debt the person best placed to negotiate a Pre-pack is the one currently negotiating with bank RUPERT !! Rest assured any half decent businessman would take this course of action and history shows that the incumbents are always favoured over new bids by the admistrators , Jeff Mostyn and Ken Bates being prime examples. Administration is NOT the way forward it should be avoided at all costs , lets just hope it isnt orchestrated. -
What we yearn for is the emotion and spirit of the Dell , walking to the Dell from Bedford place after having a fews knowing that our team was going to compete with whoever we were playing , it didnt matter if it was the Mancs , scousers or Arsenal we stood a chance of pulling of a win . We were hard to beat at the Dell and teams hated coming there , you would go to the match with excitement in you belly rather than trepidation. I dont miss the urine running out of the toilets or the crazy queues for a pie at half time , StMarys is now our home and like it or not we must turn it into the same fortress the Dell was . Lowe ,crouch and the PLC structure all have to go before we can move forward , I just hope that the spirit of the club is still there somewhere and can be re-ignited. I am not sure it is sadly !

plymouth match we won 18 corners and didnt score

Keeping busy with a few "projects" as you do , I dont have your Mob anymore maybe send it to my email that you have , was looking for you and frank on sunday but couldnt see you.

Hi Ron , Avivia are as you say very aware of the situation , However what will be making them more nervous is the PLC structure and asset liability in the event of the PLC going to admin , just take a look at West Ham , the club is viable admittedly with debts of 60m but the holding company in Iceland has gone bust..... now the icelandic goverment no less are threatening to repocess upton park. Stadium Ltd is trading under SLH in much the same way so its not cut and dried sadly.

Sadly Andrew is fighting against intense pressure from both the bank and the bond holder , additionally it seems anything that could go wrong has recently ( think thats a historic saints thing ) You are right about the next three weeks absolutely definitive for the future of the club in my opinion.
-
very sad to watch today , but nice to see sms full , go to bed
-
Need to get back to the old criteria of you only sign a player if he is better than what we already have ...... A few recently that doesnt apply to Ryan smith Pullis Any others
-
Any reduction in share value is good as is waters down share price expectations . percieved value of shares bear no relevance to the AIM price they never have and never will do but its a negotiation aid at least.

Saturdays match was a prime example of a team that has a partial game plan without the final technical ability "AS A TEAM" to do the simple and key critical thing in football "score a goal". The total football ethic that Lowe and JP have championed could work if we had a coach that actually understood it.....sadly we dont. The players are now confident playing interchanged tight passing and technically they are probably the best in the division at it , but if you play one up front you must play two wide players behind him to pull the center backs apart and give him space. If you dont he will constantly be outnumbered 2 to 1 and your attacks and you midfielders will have nothing to pass to outside the box . Its so basic and to watch JP scratching his head is infuriating . To have stood a chance on saturday at the very least we need BWP on one wing and Holmes on the other pulling the CBs apart and making space, you then need the midfield breaking into the box behind the striker. ITS NOT DIFFICULT FFS Why cant JP see it ? because he is a third division manager with no lateral thinking in his brain , total football ??my arse.

what i believe you are talking about Ron would only cause more destabilisation and in fighting at a time when the political fighting has to stop or better be hidden. Thats why it was rejected.

The Echo articule Chris Newman has written is exactly the type of thing that is making my blood boil currently. How can any true saints fan say he would rather spend his money watching another team tham saints !!!!!!! I am resentful in the same way he is for him pushing his negative doom and gloom down our throats and discouraging fans to attend. Everyone has a right to choice , I totally totally accept that . But the consequences tied to the choices we make should be totally weighed up before we make them surely !!!! Lowe is NOT the man for a future at Saints Neither is Crouch or Wilde , But to stay away because you dislike any of them more than you love your team is ridiculous in my opinion. And Dont tell me Eastleigh play better football than Saints .....****** And Chris will be the first one moaning if Saints go bust. But every single NON attender hold a partial responsibility for that if it happens . And NON attenders that are verbal about it like Chris hold extra blame. And yes Lowe ,Wilde ,Crouch ,Trant etc ...... are responsible as well . There is no excuse not to attend home matches if you can afford it , if you cant then dont damage the club by passing negative stay away messages around . Go and support pompey because you not really red and white anyway.
-
They cant because its not in there control , the bank is dictating who goes not the board.

I appreciate the debate also .......... What you have just described above is one of the most intelligent and heartfelt arguments not against Lowe only but against the whole PLC structure installed by Lowe. Dividends and PLC constraints have been key to every decision made pertaining to the sell of our prize assets and the lack of ambition shown by the board in general. Additionally it is singularly responsible for the political infighting amongst the major shareholders we all have had to endure over the last three years , this has all harm the heart of the club so so much more than you could know. You stand correct to be against the concept of putting money into the beast which is behind every move that Lowe conducts .....the PLC because yes your correct it has ripped the soul from the club. However he is JUST the figurehead he is not the problem alone .......your best chance of getting rid is to show the strength of support this club can muster , make us more purchasable than the likes of Charlton !!!! The heart and the passion of SAINTS is not a grey money sucking PLC ...its us the fans , we can take the underdog , never surrender , fun loving family club atmosphere away by all giving up because we dont like a personality ....or we can rise above that and scream at the top of our voices that Saints and Saints fans are special and prove that by getting behind the team. This I assure you will do far more than pacify the Bank, it will make saints a very investable entity and your wish of not having a PLC or Lowe driven club may well come to fruition . But it needs 18k plus fans in the stadium and a positive balance sheet.
-
Its good to see reasoned debate and in truth many of the strong emotions Lowe being envoke are totally understandabe. John Smith of course you have a right to choose not to attend !! we all do however we all should be aware of the very real threat hanging over the club from a very bum twitchy Barclays Bank . I support Saints the Football Club ,I always will no matter who is in the boardroom. Directors and chairman will come and go but the club will survive. Not going to watch Saints just because you dont like the current custodian of the boardroom chair (because thats all he is) current and not permanent is my opinion comparable to not ****ging your wife for 9 months because she has the wrong coloured nickers on. The Club ,the heart and the passion is still there you just have to look beyond the present custodians and remember its the club you support. Lowe and Wilde are having there arms twisted by the bank constantly , this is not normal times and until investment is found or the club makes a profit either from player sales or bums on seats nothing will change . The fans thought can influence this by getting behind the team and attending ........but in the end the choice is always the individuals . But truly supporting a team is something that defies logical individualism normally.
-
Well summarised ......I wish all the stay awayers could try to understand the harm they are doing . The club is under a very strict and restrictive watching brief with regard to the overdraft facility with Barclays. The month on month losses have now reduced to below 200k and if someone would take the likes of euell, skacel or Thomas of the books it would help greatly. Cost reduction (wage Bill ) is key critical to the bank continuing to support the overdraft , The alternative is the Bank pulling the plug. If attendances increased to 18k or above for every match ,the club would be making a profit and the bank pressure would be gone. If this could happen before January I feel sure we would stand a better chance of keeping certain players in the team that we all want to keep. Dont stay away as a demonstration go to the matches because you support the team and want us to survive .

A bit of information you might be interested in , Adam was scouted by a lovely guy called Dennis Holley and another who will remain unamed as it will only cause a row. Denis sadly passed away five years ago dying from spinal cancer. The other scout is still around and scouting for saints.

Had a long discussion with SG at last weeks game ....apparently all been discussed on the basis above and agreed that it works . Greater men than me with more PLC knowledge see a way of manovering Ron .
-
Only the football club Ltd would be put in Admin Not the PLC or stadium Ltd. Being a PLC does have an advantage after all , the Major asset is still protected.
