We still decide how to save money, if that happens by selling one and buying one then the bank doesn't have much to say about that.
-
With the fee we received and on lesser wages then the players sold was on?
-
I don't believe that, from JP's selections its already clear he's important to the team so if he goes he goes for a decent fee.
-
That would results in unmotivated players and to many changes in the teams between the matches. I think the choice to leave the ones they wanted to sell out of the team was a wise one. It gives more stability to the first team. That said, perhaps they could have been used as subs.
-
That will happen once we're sure they're not leaving.

If John, goes a new striker will have to be brought in but I doubt he will go. So far its a unsubstantiated rumour from some palace fan. If Surman goes we put Skacel LB, if he goes as well then we put Mills there and perhaps bring in a LB. IF Svenssons knee malfunctions again we'll need to bring in a new CB, Lancashire, Wotton and Racine are nice as cover but not as you first choice. Its simple really, for several positions we have the minimal coverage, if we sell one of the players for that position then we need to bring someone in.

Agreed although I wonder who to put on the bench as extra striker, maybe BWP or should Paterson who played well in the reserve game get the nod ahead of BWP? Besides that I don't think Dyer will be on the bench or in the team, he didn't play saturday and was left out of the reserves yesterday. My bench would be (with the same line-up): Forecast Wotton Mills BWP Paterson

I know we're without points but we were without points on Sunday as well and then most were still optimistic. I never said Davies won't be missed but this team is more then capable of picking up points against lesser opponents then Brum and Cardiff.

This place has gone from generally very happy with Saturdays performance and a positive view for the rest of the season to mass depression. Now I understand people (including myself) are disappointed with the sale of Davies and in particular the price he went for but lets not forget that the good football so far has been played without him. Don't get me wrong I think he could have been important to the team but the reaction is generally a bit over the top for a player who hasn't played for Saints in like half a year.
-
Nobody in the team is not for sale but John is a part of the team and if he goes I'm expect a good price. There is also a big difference between one party wanting to buy him and the other selling him, the "fact" that palace want him doesn't mean will sell him. I'd say they have a bigger chance with Helguson anyway, he seems to be far down the pecking order at Bolton. Anyway, no reason to get worked-up just yet, so far its a rumour from some palace fan saying the want John.

At least then I can ski. Its not that I really mind the weather, its just that I like to have four different seasons and not a spring and a very long fall without a proper summer. Besides that, there's a million lakes to swim in here and since uni isn't starting yet I was hoping to get to the beach a few times.
-
My football match tonight was called off due to a waterlogged pitch and the temperature hasn't been above 15 or something in ages. I can honestly say my first Swedish summer is not the best.

A bit higher up the table?
-
Well, if on average the globe was warming then I suppose you could still call it global warming.
-
Maybe we're just numb from all the bad news. Of course people realise he was an important player for is and could have been in the future as well but at the moment that is not what dictates if do or do not accept a bid for a player.
-
I'm not saying Wilde signed them, but Wilde was in charge, not Crouch. Of course in the end Burley signed them, but I'm sure Burley was given a budget to work within.

Rupert - Please tell the fans the true story

I'd say that covers the gist of it. Maybe we'll get an update after the transferwindow closes. -
Lets get the fact straight, it was under Wilde's tenure that Skacel was signed.
-
I thought the British Isles where one of the areas where temperatures were supposed to go down due to global warming or is that a urban myth?
-
JP's comments yesterday suggest otherwise.
-
Like I said it looks like the combined sum of 4 million from the Davies and Surman rumours and the alleged comment by Lowe before the Brum match that the bank forced him to accept the offer for Davies are being added up by the Echo to: The bank wants 4 million in player sales.

C'mon Alpine, get your plane ticket now... I don't know what they are trying to accomplish but maybe those fans should realise that selling players is the only way to avoid things getting worse. We can't wait for investment any more and postpone the hard decision, those have to be taken now and by the looks of it we have a fighting chance with the youngsters so lets all get behind the team instead of focussing on investment etc. We can deal with things like that when they are here.
-
I'm not saying it will be easy but I still feel we have a chance if we just get some more of the high earners of our books. It won't be easy but at least we have a fighting chance. Going into administration just fooks us up more and doomes us to relegation straight away.
