Maybe? You're willing to risk the future of the club on it maybe being more interesting to investors? What happens if we're not interesting anyway, then we're absolutely fooked beyond repair.

Indeed, so we should deal with the debt and the losses we are making as quickly and thoroughly. Now I'm not happy that we're selling players that could be important to the first team but if there's no takes for Euell, Skacel, etc. then this is the only way.

Started at VV Bennekom in the Netherlands when I was 8 I think and stayed there until I was 16 I think always playing in the lower teams of my age categorie. When I was 16 I moved to the US and there I played for my highschool team even though I was still a freshman (they're not very good at football there). When I returned to Holland I started playing for another local team called K.S.V. Fortissimo where I stayed until I moved to Belfast. In Belfast I played football at a local team called Vision Athletic FC for a season, after a year I moved back to Holland where initially I didn't sign up for a team, last season I started playing again at RKAVIC in the Dutch 5th division reserve and having just moved to Sweden I'm now playing for Högbo AIK in the 5th division Gästrikland.

If reading want a leftback they're better off buying Skacel in my opinion.... Besides that 4 million does seem like a lot but that number seems to have been put together but adding the rumoured price for Davies and Surman (1.5 + 2.5 = 4, so that must be what they need). The problem is that beggars can't be choosers, if we can't get rid of Skacel then we have a surplus leftback/leftmidfielder, if we can then get a decent price for Surman then selling him is something we have to do.

I think attendances for the reserve team will go down. Anyway, seems like a sensible move although I'm wondering how many PL reserve teams will come down for friendlies. Afterall, they are playing more fixtures then we are, the main reason we wanted those friendlies in the first place. Good to see as well that U18 players will get a chance in the reserves more often as well, players like Racine who JP rates should not only be playing in the youth team.

CCC Highlights in Sweden

Btw, Saints vs. Blackpool on the 30th is live on Viasat 2. -
Right, so you think we played crap and we're doomed? Just to get things clear.
-
DOn't bother reading the elaboration. Its StubbSaint, he won't have a good things to say about Poortvliet if we win promotion. It still is funny though that he refers to them as jokers since there's only one in charge of the first team and only one making a statement on OS. Perhaps he can't count.
-
I was being ironic you know? Bloody smilies not working properly. Just to make sure, I'm agreeing with Micky.
-
So you did see that most posters on here were positive in defeat? But then they must be wrong since you decided we're going down already. Stupid happy-clappy people not agreeing with you, why don't they just listen to the enigma called Alpine Saint who can judge a team without seeing it......

I can't really see the contradiction between what he said yesterday and the statement today. The fact that his statements yesterday caused some confusion made SFC release this statement. I don't see that much bull****, yesterday Poortvliet had been busy with a match and since he himself does not deal with the transfers I don't find it strange that he wasn't exactly sure where the negotiations were at that point in time. He had a match to coach. The reason for this statement to be released was just to clarify that this deal is not being done behind Jans back (something I don't really believe anyway, he knew we were on a very very tight budget so can hardly be surprised so why would you keep it a secret). To summarize: 1. We and Davies are in negotiations with Stoke but its not a done deal 2. He wants to leave so if its not Stoke then it will probably be someone else he ends up with. 3. Jan was aware of the interest and negotiations but was not exactly sure how the negotiations were going. Something that was sort of clear yesterday as well although they have removed that part of the statement from the Birmingham match report.

I'll take JP's word for it, so far he hasn't said one word of bull**** in the press. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=10457

Dutch second tier matches are mostly played on Fridays, therefore him going to Southampton on Saturdays is not unthinkable.
-
We're almost bottom after playing an international fixture and one against the next Champ champs.
-
Now where have I seen line-ups like that before?
-
True, but a 17 million punishment is over the top IMHO. What does he have to do with the fee anyway? Its not like he would be receiving that money. Maybe Parma should pay up for delivering a faulty player (mentally)?
-
Because he wants to leave and because he is one of the high earners. Besides, we're trying to get rid of Skacel, there's just no takers.
-
Watching someone play is much more helpfull then watching DVD's en VCR's which I'm sure Poortvliet did already. The problem with videofootage is that it isn't focussed at one player so you don't get the total picture of how he played.
-
I'd say Mutu is a bit unlucky although not through injuries.
-
Yes, I think a 4 3 3 formation with two wingers and one orthodox striker will work fine for us. I also believe that if there is room to change a game by throwing on another striker but that this was not possible due to Dyer and BWP not performing last week and Killer not being fully fit.
-
Why not if you're playing with one striker?
-
If we had sold John and would have kept Rasiak and he missed a chance you would have been saying this about John. The fact of the matter is, we had a proven goalscorer on the pitch and he apparently missed a huge chance. Just shows that even experienced player can **** up and that missing that chance had nothing at all to do with youth. Besides that Saga might have scored a vital goal against Sheff Utd. and he might have worked hard last season but he was anything but a prolific striker. The transfers of Rasiak and Saga are sensible ones both financially and technically. As long as we'll create chances there will be plenty of occasions when we do score the goals, we have a good striker in John and DMG has shown in the last few games he knows where the net is too.
-
Damn, another player that will score against us.
-
Ooooohhh! He said FACT, it must be true now.....
-
The results now say a lot less then how we played at this point in the season. Besides that losses against two of the better sides in the CCC aren't that bad when you're aiming for midtable.
