He’s already passed half his total for 18/19.
2 clean sheets, 1 goal. Played 90 mins 5 times, only 1 yellow card, 6 bonus points (2x player of the game).
If you watched the match you might understand why (I say might, your writing style suggests that you are a bit thick). Djenepo started the game at LWB and looked very uncomfortable there. It was only when Ralf switched things up that he was able to get into the game. I suggested subbing him off for Ings not long before the goal because I felt even though he was playing well that he looked to be tiring. Judging by the goal I was wrong, but then Ralf subbed him for Ings about 10 minutes after the goal.
I don’t think Long touched the ball.
Armstrong rather worryingly was half asleep again and very sloppy in possession when we most needed him to retain the ball.
We won which is the most important thing but we are nice to watch too again. There was a really nice 20+ pass move just before the goal (Djenepo slipped at the end of it I think). Lovely to watch!
I particularly liked a lot of our build up play, players seem to be getting on the same wavelength with some nice flicks and quick passes. Adams really deserved a goal today, his best game for Saints so far.
Boufal was excellent today, he was beating players well, retaining possession well and as you said, his back tracking was very good too, an asset of his that often goes unnoticed.
