All those long contracts we signed with players would have to be honoured or we sell. Disgruntled players wanting out. Less attractive for other player coming in. Less TV money. He’s been a ****ing disgrace. Putting that aside it’s an interesting (possibilities?) look at what can happen when you force a player to stay. Obviously it can go either way, but for those who were very vocal about us bending over and taking it for Mané etc. this is how it can go wrong (see Fonte also).

Saints Facebook page is full of anger and MP out posts. The club have to have noticed just how disillusioned the fans are. Hopefully they act swiftly and decisively, but our track record with acting swiftly is not good. I think the whole “Southampton way” and “we march on” stuff has blown up in our faces and makes the club look arrogant. The board will have a hard time backtracking from this so it might be heads in the sand time while praying something changes on the field.

Nature of the defeat, we’re like a dog trying to escape from a garden by butting into a piece of wood, never noticing that there is an open gate further down the fence. Surely they look at match videos and see how isolated the striker is, see how ponderous we are, see the lack of movement, see the high crosses don’t work, see that failure to close down a striker leaves us vulnerable, see that midfielders not going into the box to get a second ball, etc etc. isn’t working.

Saw the closing stages of the Palace match, granted it was only about 3 minutes but their pace, passing and attacking looks streets ahead of us. These are worrying times.

Feed I have showed the last 3 mins of the Palace Everton game. Palace moving the ball well with speed and movement, nearly snatched it at the death. They are bottom of the league but look much better than us
