Following the game via this thread. I'm currently waiting for my son's ice hockey game to start. How do we look today?

People always say that it evens ou over a season but I don't think it does. How many times have we benefited from bad decisions this season?

That's what linos should be watching not flagging at players not interfering with play.

Didn't sleep a wink last night. Ugh. Hate to pick someone out but Fraser has to make a few saves that aren't right at him. Oh for a Niemi or a Flowers in goal yesterday. It's those moments, those crucial saves (like de Gea's two on JWP) that win the silverwear. Could be decades before we get a better chance than that. ****!

Best team lost. Unfortunately United only needed 2 star players (Ibra, De Gea) to play well for them to win.

Rather than Boufal too who looked to be overawed by the occasion.

This. Sick to my stomach that in order for us to win a trophy we have to be near perfect and yet we've seen other teams play total **** and get a huge slice of luck. United fans will have forgotten about this by next weekend. Me, this defeat and the unfairness of it all will stick with me forever.

Frustrating isn't it. Redmond decided not to make a meal of it and attack the ball, yet that cheat Herrera was rolling around pretending Romeu caught him in the face....and they say that cheats never prosper. Another pivotal moment is that OR got in an excellent block but couldn't see where the ball went and United pit it out wide and crossed for the winning goal. Fine margins.

What is extra galling for me is that had we won that I'd have celebrated it until the day I died, rewatching the goals, remembering the feeling etc. Your typical united fan will have forgotten about this by Wednesday...

Umm. I'm proud too but FF had a poor game today. He made one decent save (with his legs). Made 2 poor punches when he could have caught the ball. Gave Ibra a whole goal to aim at (look at the replay, ball went in about 2 feet from the post) and was nowhere for the other 2 goals. A decent keeper performance and we would have won that.

This isn't sitting well with me. Had united deserved it it would be easier to swallow. Haven't even moved off the couch since the game ended. Once, just once, why couldn't it be our day? Those ****s have won stacks of trophies. We did enough out there. Whyyyyyyyyyy?

Immensely proud that we did enough to win but I didn't like the Tadic and Gabbi substitutions. Boufal came on and immediately got into two excellent positions on the field. Both times he held on to the ball and the chance was gone (on one he could have gone for goal as well). Gabbi on 2 goals and giving them all sorts of problems. Yes Long got the winner at Anfield but come on, he takes 4 or 5 chances to score, we needed a clinical finisher out there if we wanted to win. If he was tired then take a chance on him and if we get to FT then reassess. **** it.

Exactly! And then what happens immediately, 2 chances fall to Saints with Long and JWP not clinical enough to bury them. It hurts me to think "what if...". Ugh.

Can you? I can't, why should we get ****ed over like this. We were superb today and the better team and didn't win because the officials favoured a big team. I can't take that, not at all.

And all the skate ****s that probably stole Utd shirts for the occasion.

So ****ing typical. We played really well get ****ed over by the lino, get back in it, have some great chances including one I think JWP will have nightmares about. Romeu hits post, Stephens goes close and then those jammy ****s break and win it. ****ing gutted.
