  1. Of course Mr Liebherr can do what he likes, but as we saw last season if the fans don't like what he likes, they won't turn up and his investment will turn down.At the end of the day football at our current level is about getting arses on seats and we all know what it takes to do that. So does Mr Liebherr.
  2. He left a couple of years before I started my 7 stretch.
  3. Talking of Old Boys, who's up for the OTs dinner next November?? I think it's some particular milestone or other, 100th maybe
  4. actually it's derived from Flanders,how I can't quite remember.
  5. Ooh I don't know, for the stuff that that particular Belgian lady did you'd be prepared to run any amount of risks.I mean with her I could see how Mata Hari obtained information so easily. Some women are just that good, not that mine was a spy or anything (cos I'd have to watch out for that:cool:) she worked in their Treasury.
  6. and do you think club history was all his "snouts" told him about? I've nothing whatsoever against FF but he got used a couple of times by unscrupulous people in the old power struggle.
  7. I won't profess to have extracted any sense at all from all that Ottery. Do I need to run it through a devonspeak-english translator or something?
  8. Like watching paint dry I suppose, still paint eventually does dry, which is more than you could say about our scoring record last season.
  9. Ah but I'm not at all sure that she had lesbian tendancies, never noticed them myself.Still she was a Belgian so you never know.
  10. wasn't it the collapse of some ITV deal or other that put so many lower league clubs into financial difficulty? and yet they still show live football.
  11. Poirot spoke French, he was a walloon.Although most government agents would now be required to be fluent in at least 2 of the 3 official languages practised in Belgium. How do I know this ? I dated a Belgian civil servant for a number of years, she did the best BJ in the history of mankind.
  12. less access would be my guess. I'm sure that the new regime continued the old regime's clear out of old fogies who could be relied upon to tip off all their "contacts" with inside information.
  13. Right, no point in freezing your bollx off in Poland when you can scrub about in the Greek sunshine for twice the pay. Something incongruous in there though, wasn't he on the bench for us last Saturday?
  14. Still a bit silly of them giving him what looks like a 2 year contract straight away, they could have taken him on loan with an option and they'd have got 6 good months out of him.
  15. Don't ITV show about 4 live games each round though? .We got 4 on France 4 last weekend, presume they all came from ITV as Sky only sell to Canal + usually.
  16. doesn't say they paid anything for him though,
  17. Sadism? I would have thought paying £5 to join a forum where you are certain to suffer a certain amount of (friendly) abuse could only be described as masochism. Still as C P Snow's character Lewis Elliot used to say, forget you're tired, forget you don't want to, just be there.
  18. But today he'd have posted his 3 times already and if he gets slagged off (not that it happens on this forum very often:cool:) he'd have to wait until tomorrow to reply, which is fairly annoying if you have something to say that really can't wait..or so you think anyway.£5 really isn't that much anyway.
  19. Amazing, a "skate" who actually paid £5 to refute whatever we may say about them, unless you're Tony Lynam of course.
  20. Wouldn't want him, far far too green for League 1.
  21. well as they'll be getting 1.6 million in TV money which had been withheld I guess they might just pay some players (or staff) at the end of the month. They're probably not all that skint but these sheikh lads do like to haggle over everything. However they do need to do something about their matchday attendances, they can't go on for ever on 11K or whatever it is. We'll still beat them anyway. Our side is vastly superior to theirs, just that we're playing in a league which doesn't suit our style.
  22. Radio Suffolk certainly picked it up in their commentary,
  23. Having listened to only the Ipswich commentary last Saturday I was quite surprised just how more factual it was than the usual Solent effort. I'm not a fan of Whispering Dave and his interventions often seem totally pointless to me, the bloke on Suffolk was certainly sharper (and less biased) in his analysis.
  24. It's like most situations, some people can look at a room for a few seconds and remember it virtually completely, some can look at it for half an hour and then ask themselves if there were 4 walls or 5.Some people have incredibly analytical minds some have to ask the same question 5 times before they grasp the answer.I once did a stretch at some awareness institute or other,on the first day they put you in room with thousands of objects none of which were particularly extraordinary, they told you to mentally list all the red objects or all the white objects,2 hours later you had to remember all the square things or all the black things or whatever.Sounds easy but it sure sorts the observant from the rest.
