  1. yes, how we actually use him will be quite enlightening. I just hope there's not a log jam of forward/wide midfielders.
  2. as long as it doesn't become entirely predictable.
  3. Puncheon it is then.
  4. Shilton even scored a goal (against us ) directly from a goal kick,Neil Crossley also scored a goal against us. Can't be many teams that have had 2 opposition keepers score against them.
  5. doubt if there will be any more, this is probably the last signing of the window. After that it'll be loans if necessary.
  6. yep, wasted on Falkirk, probably playing him at centre half again.
  7. Correct me if I'm wrong but Arfield isn't a Charles Atlas replica either is he? I certainly wouldn't spend money on him outright, I'd want a loan period first and I'd certainly never sign him instead of a known value like Danns.
  8. I think he was a free agent anyway.Never any deadline on free agents.
  9. what and not give us the benefit of your encyclopaedic knowledge on the match thread? Anyway Rangers will tonk Falkirk and the boy won't get a look in.
  10. But Hamilton Academicals did offer just 100,000 £ for him didn't they? you would think a scottish side playing in the same league would know what a player was worth wouldn't you;) He probably isn't any better than LLoyd James, not saying that in a derogatory way.
  11. he said that he had a friend who has a friend who works for the club (saints I presume) thought that a transfer had taken place today. Probably not because if it was the case we might have heard about it by now. Perhaps just talks with a player have taken place though. We shall see if all the announced "targets" turn out for their clubs tomorrow.
  12. Has anyone at the club ever, even faintly or tangentially, confirmed that we are in fact interested in Neil Danns? Just asking because to me he seems far far superior to Puncheon,Arfield or even Stock.
  13. this is right,we should, we have better players than most teams and yet we can't beat them. We have signed a couple of players who can't make every game (Jaidi,Murty,Connolly) if they could perform regularly then I doubt if their previous clubs would have cast them out on their collective ear. When they play they've done well for us, but Murty has played something like 5 league games out of 26, Connolly has missed the last 5 or 6 and seems to have been replaced by Barnard. Jaidi, we'll see tomorrow but it wouldn't surprise me if our starting back pair is now Seabourne and Fonté. We are wasting the apparently immense talent of Lallana and potential talent of Morgan by aimlessly punting the ball over their heads to a striker who hasn't scored from open play for a few games now, perhaps all the opposition managers have got him sussed eh.I'm not saying that it's a great problem because I haven't believed in the play-offs since we took 4 points from our first 6 games but to me we are signing players we don't need and not signing players we do need.
  14. I give up, have it your own way, we are a fabulous side full of top class talent who just can't beat Brentford or Millwall.
  15. no not really but I'd have thought we were targeting players who are actually playing above our current standard.Fonté is the only one who fits that billing. Obviously Danns would as well or Stock but as yet we haven't finalised either of those signings. We need to give Barnard time to settle in obviously but if it was a choice between he and McSheffrey I know who I'd take, because we're supposed to be looking for players who can move on up with us.
  16. Still instead of Barnard perhaps? who is no doubt a great little player but he missed an open goal..well a 1 on 1 anyway... on tuesday.I really do question the quality of some of our acquisitions and targeted players ,still will time will tell.
  17. And why weren't we in there trying to get him? Is it a case of the great North/South divide, still Birmingham isn't too far north is it.
  18. Yes Leeds could beat most sides in the Scots Prem, idem Charlton and even Colchester. Scots football is just a joke.
  19. And scored for them in midweek. We could have used him but I suspect that our league position disserved us yet again.
  20. So a player "on the verge of a Scotland call up" can be bought for 400K£? You won't get into the England squad with a market value of under 20 million (unless you're a goalkeeper, for that you just need a pair of boots)
  21. I'd be really pleased, he's a geriatric who'll gift us a shedload of goals.
  22. Omniscient, like many on this very forum.
  23. Unless of course the deck is too sh*tty to play on and AP had told them to go route 1 anyway.Don't forget Morgan wasn't in the starting line up, the poor pitch might have affected that, unless he'd been on leave for a few days because he was supposed to be suspended.
  24. back to the original plan than, I'm sure he's a much better player as well.
  25. they seem to, O'Hara was only on loan at Skate yet he couldn't move on and at that time Pompey were on a transfer embargo and couldn't renew his loan.
