  1. We should take it, the glue is probably worth more than Wotton.
  2. But if you read what O'Driscoll says he refers to APs statement on saturday. He uses 'I believe Alan said he felt that Doncaster's valuation would not match ours" and continues to deny any contact at all. It's all quite clear on the DRFC OS.There is no ambiguity, no approach, no offer, no nothing. Now if that isn't the case O Driscoll will look a right tit.
  3. I thought that Danns bloke sounded better to be honest. Scores more goals from open play I think (Stock takes penalties).
  4. Doesn't matter, he's a "local" and they're all very excited about him. He's probably pretty average otherwise he wouldn't still be playing for Doncaster Rovers, still never mind he's on facebook.
  5. and he was also the first of many "right man for the job" We could have got Moyes but he wanted things like a salary higher than the average job seekers allowance and his own assistants. When you consider the money wasted on the Ecudorian duo, paying off Gray and the useless Wadsworth and a few quid over the top for Delap, I guess Moyes would have been quite economical. I said at the time on a well known mailing list that Lowe's attitude was a danger to the survival of SFC, of course I got a right royal slagging off from most of the other 800 or so members.
  6. Do you actually know what erudite means? It means someone who knows a whole lot about a whole lot of things . So how erudite and meathead can be coupled in the same phrase I just don't know. Leave you all to your argument now.....
  7. How would you explain Huddersfield away then? Taking of James and Morgan and replacing them with Mellis and Thomson at 54 minutes thus making a powder puff midfield for Huddersfield to stroll through.Pardew threw a point away there
  8. I wouldn't mind us having a look at Gillett in the middle instead of Wotton. He can't be much worse really.Even if we lose 1-O we can make it up in the home leg. We have just got to look at Gillett sooner or later to see if we're missing anything.
  9. still wouldn't be the first manager to have players sold behind his back would he.
  10. No to be honest playing Thomson and Lancashire was just asking for trouble. He chopped and changed all the time. One week Saga started up front, the next it was Rasiak, then Patterson, gave no-one time to settle in.They weren't interesting to him and he tarted about regally with them.He obviously wanted nothing to do with Gillett so apart from a few minutes as a sub he complete ignored him, even gave Pulis a few minutes instead.
  11. classic example Glen Johnson to Skates,he's been sold on since and they still owe money to the club they bought him from.We owed money to Notts County for McGoldrick even though he'd been here for a few years. It's all on the never never in football transfers.Plenty of "done deals" collapse because the selling club want paying straight away.
  12. But in my opinion it will be better if the majority of fans accept NOW that we have a very feeble chance of making the play-offs because continuing in the current vein of "we will make it and it's the manager and players fault if we don't" will lead to the type of hysteria that we saw on Saturday evening and all day on Sunday. Our poor start to the season (and some very poor team selection by AP in the first 6 games) has always meant that we had a mountain to climb and that hasn't changed.
  13. yes he did, he spoke of it at the time, "the players have had a trim, the Chairman has had a trim and I've had a short back and sides".
  14. Except that 72 points will be nowhere near good enough this season. Far too many really poor teams in the division where the current top teams are sure of 3 points every time.Play-off target will be about 76/77 points this time. We won't get another 47/48 from 21 games so we won't make it. In fact if you look at last season's table 76 was the minimum and 3 of the 4 play-off teams lost 14 games, the other lost 11. Of the 4 clubs in this year's play-off places at the moment the greatest number of lost games is 7 and the lowest is 2.
  15. What do you expect from a marine biologist, scum of the earth. Only interested to get free holidays in coral seas as a rule.
  16. What he's stereotyped seaweed??
  17. but that won't change the salarial mass, doesn't matter whether you pay them every month or pay up their contracts the cost is the same.
  18. This is indeed true, we won't win every game. Trouble is far far too many people think we will make the play-offs, we won't. We wre never going to when we took 4 points from our first 6 games. Once you accept this as a FACT it changes your outlook on results like today's. We went to Millwall, thugged it out toe to toe with them and could have won, lost or drawn. In this sort of game ball players tend to just get over-run .A draw with Millwall at the Den isd a good result, it's not this one that will trash our play-off hopes but those at the start of the season when we were starting with Lancashire,Saganowski and Paterson.
  19. Our fate vis a vis the play-offs was decided after the first 6 games of the season. Anyone wth half a neurone and some knowledge of third tier football could see that. Although AP keeps talking about play-offs I doubt if anyone at the club has really believed we will be there for a long long time. Our objective is the JPT and we had Wednesday in mind today.
  20. We're any of them actually at the game??
  21. chopper harris, now there's a name for a footballer
  22. How come there's never any golf on Saturday afternoon then Glasgow, give us all a break if there was.
  23. Yes I know that, used to live down that way, but our commentators said they were in S W London.
  24. I see that the Millwall commentators don't know that Holmes is a winger, says we have defenders playing on the wings.Ours aren't much better, Millwall is in South West London.
  25. Perhaps they were never really on in the first place.
