As the old adage goes "If it's in the Sun it must be true" academic anyway they won't get wound up.......but we can still hope.

still the 2-0 lead we threw away against Villa was probably the one single result that sent us down. -

Surely they'll be due some Prem money for this season though. The PP would be for next season, this season they get normal whack less the 7 million that every Premiership club has had in advance, I suppose it's easier for the Premier League authorities to advance them the PP because it's a known sum whereas this years premier league winning aren't, unless you assume they'll be in last place. They're going to wriggle out of this, probably aided and abetted by the Premier League, mark my words. -
we said that about a lot of our players when we got relegated to the Championship, think we said it about Saga in League 1 as well.

Pardew expects Southampton board to keep their word

Our current form is about as good as anyone's, our problem is the first 8 matches of the season, we took about 7 points from them.If we'd had the same sort of ratio as recent matches we'd have got 16 or so and that's the difference between our real points total and those of Norwich and Leeds. Edit : in fact we got 9 from 10, so that means that from our last 18 matches we've got 35 points, form as good as anyone's really. -

although the real target may well be 10 points from automatic promotion. -

Doubt it, I had a look at Ryanair from Grenoble the other day. Providing I can get leave this time I could do the round trip for about £40 but the Mrs will insist on going(but not to the match) and stay at the Lancaster Gate (because we always do) so I won't get any change at all from £300 and that"s without Le Café des Amis du Vin because we always have to do that as well. Still should be worth it. -

He really is quite good at it, or was a couple of years ago when I had the opportunity to see him practising at Clairefontaine. It's something that AP has decided, no midfielders taking set pieces, you'd have to ask him why that is. -
But still I wouldn't mind betting that someone, somewhere will find it of sufficient reason or self interest to bail the bastards out, if not it will be genial.
-
I'm an "optimist" because however much I want it to happen I'm just so afraid that it won't. They've been extracting the urite for years now (we got into trouble through honest bumbling) and it would be such a hard lesson for all the other spend till you bust big clubs that totally negate any idea of fair competition that it would be too good to be true.
-
If Pompey go out of business during the season all their results are wiped out so points totals will change, some will gain, others will lose. All the other Premiership clubs will be influenced by that. The few clubs having lost to Pompey would want it to happen as the results of all the others having beaten them would be reduced to the same result 0 points.

Gordon Brown was moaning about football debt the other day, he should instruct HMRC to make an example of Skate unless they pay in full their debt to the nations revenues, don't care about Gaydamak,Chainrai or Sol Cambell though.

Idiakiez is like a Morris Minor, you need to get it first hand or else it's clapped out and won't start more often than not. Good player, awful attitude, he'd made his stash and just wanted to idle through another couple of seasons at megabucks per week, same as many of Burley's signings, perhaps even Burley himself. -
What are the odds on them not being wound up?? Because that is the world's safest bet, if the bookies give odds on it it's free money.Portsmouth will not be wound up because either HMRC won't have the balls to do it or either the Premier League or Chainrai will bail them out.

Because the third division was beneath his dignity and he probably had his bonuses cut.

I"d rather have Ankergren to be honest.
-
Nope Belhadj dummies him, Zidane trick, there was only 1 intention in Belhadj's mind, score.
-
Hammond I think
-
Strange that the English idea of getting anything out of your system is by going out on the p*ss though.
-
Nope he has no control on his header because he's not that good with his head, I think mental pace might be just Papa's biggest default, he's not instinctive in front of goal. The obvious move was back across James to the other post, same as Lallana's header really but neither player has the composure or instinct that it takes...yet. Connolly would have scored both of those, plus the other Papa chance and the shot Lallana muffed and he'd have screamed at Barnard to leave the ball alone for our offside goal. It's a real shame that Connolly isn't fit because we'd be 4 points nearer the play-offs and into the 6th Round of the Cup if he was.

their fine performance or getting to Wembley on Tuesday??
-
I would say Belhadj never has any intention of crossing the ball, Kelvin buys the dummy that's all .For the second goal (Dindane's) kelvin is on the ground too early a really brave keeper (not criticising Kelvin though) would have come out at his feet but Kelvin hasn't got the pace to do that any more, should have stood his ground though, he's diving even before Dindane has decided what to do, might have been effective at speed on a wet pitch but on a billiard table like St Mary's he was never going to slide far enough to skittle Dindane. Anyway it's not really his fault,Perry's error and the gung ho attacking left him in impossible situations.

I would think he may well interest one of the CCC sides promoted to the Premier League, scores goals and can no doubt provide others. We may have improved his fitness to a level he's never had before making him a totally different proposition to the one we bought.
