  1. the defence has cleary been identified as our Achilles Heel, apparently Pardew was furax after the Colchester game, not surprising ,the goals were really lamentable and could easily have been avoided if our CBs weren't so slow.I've always said we need 2 CBs and a RB before anything else. Looks like he leans towards my point of view as well.
  2. If Perry starts at CB against Millwall we will have great difficulty in winning. I do not rate the man, neither does the management apparently otherwise we would not have signed 2 new CBs. Game reading is one thing, physical presence is something else.
  3. Did Ward really phone them ?? Is there proof of that ?
  4. probably go back to Colchester, wouldn't mind him though, always scores against us,or so it would seem.
  5. 3-5-2 in League 1 would be fairly innovative. You need defenders of an exceptional calibre who are used to the system. You have to have one of the back 3 who can sweep and relance,it's not in the possibilities of all players. Perhaps Fonté, but I see him being used in front of a classic back 4 with Jaidi and Seaborne in the 2 CD roles. One thing's for sure in a 3-5-2 system you don't hoof.
  6. Not fussed myself, I'd rather see players going out of the door before any more come in. I'd like to see our new players with shirt numbers other than 40,45 or 50. Above all I want to see Saganowski and Thomas gone by the end of the month, even if we do end up paying someone to take them off our hands, they are the past, the demise and have no place here now..
  7. Neither will be in the starting 11 on Saturday, how about that for a reason.
  8. the 2011 contract is,if I'm right, particular to this specific game of Football Manager, meaning that it has no basis in reality or in FM as a whole. It is this FM player that has decided the 2011 contract date.
  9. Pity we don't have pre draft combines like the NFL. At least there are some serious factual values available. Not ones based on the opinion of some ST holder or other who may or may not know something about the player or even the game.
  10. By some schoolboy games player I presume, excuse my ignorance I have never tried my hand at any of these football fantasy larks.
  11. I think it was stated earlier on in this thread that he was out of contract this summer. Hence the short contract with us with no fee attached (apparently).
  12. No doubt AP and his coaches are rushing to look at his FM ratings to see if he's worth signing then.
  13. [quote=Matthew Le God;565410 Whenever fans on other teams forums bring up FM to discuss their club signing a Saints player it is based on my opinion of each Saints player. So the figures aren't just plucked out of the air. Well write up Saga,Thomas,Pulis and Molyneaux a bit sharpish then.Give them all maximum marks all round.
  14. See my opinion of Norwich in general and NCFC in particular elsewhere. They have so many ST holders that they must give them away with the cow fodder or something.
  15. what's all that mumbo jumbo about then? Oh right FM, it's justy a f*cking video game you know. Like most others it has no base in real life.
  16. Good for him then. It might be added that Gillett ,who couldn't get a game here, has probably been replacing Stock during his absence at Doncaster.
  17. Nope once a Window Cleaner always a Window Cleaner although I don't really clean glass windows, but then I think I 've explained that before haven't I ? Perhaps just in PMs though. Most opinionated, perhaps not, I am a sort of Mary Whitehouse of the anti-bulls*t party.I don't like it and I think there's far far too much of it being spread over the more gullible souls of this very forum.
  18. Didn't Neil Innes do something with the Pythons at the outset?
  19. shhh don't tell them that though, dogma rules OK.
  20. But that's just uncorroborated forum crap, means no more than newspaper rumours. People in accounts departments don't usually gab to their friends about things. It usually ends up in them being sacked. If I gabbed to you all about things that my job leads me to know I'd last about 30 seconds afterwards.
  21. Ah right, Moses didn't have it on the tablets of fire when he came down from Mt Sinai then. Newspaper rumour = Agent bullsh*t in 70% of cases, it's free and it gets the ball rolling. Journos are always looking for crap to print so why not give them a few ideas.
  22. Do you know this for a 100% concrete FACT ? or did someone just lead you up the garden path to make himself look big.
  23. remind me why was it thought that he might join us in the first place
  24. He's past 31 now, don't forget Cantona quit football at 30 (well football on grass anyway).Perhaps Saga's motivation isn't there any more. Football may be just a job to him, probably been playing and training 5/6 days a week since he was about 14, may have just had enough of it.You can't blame the player really, just the idiots who insisted on him being signed at all cost against the wishes of "the execs".
  25. Now imagine Ward had originally turned down our terms and we'd gone looking elsewhere. Then we offer him slightly better and he accepts. In the meantime we've found a player who is thought to be as good, so we tell Ward to go shove it as a lesson that no-one tries it on for more than he's worth with SFC. Just a hypothesis mind you.
