  1. Cold and Damp then, should suit us more than Pompey, especially those of them that have been hanging around down in Angola of late..
  2. Went out of fashion when Vera Lynn stopped doing concert tours
  3. Amazing to see all this sleep peturbation and pants crapping, it's only a game:smt119
  4. Is AP not on just a 1 year contract? I very much doubt that if league performances are deemed "unsatisfactory" for the rest of this season he would be offered a new contract which would have to be paid off if he were to be sacked.
  5. Depends if they've been paid I suppose. What's the weather forecast for Saturday lunchtime by the way?
  6. if it keeps on happening there's probably something wrong with the address they put on it.
  7. the BBC "preview" says he's out along with Murty and Hammond,it's only the BBC though.
  8. British disease sponsored by the Government. They want you to be afraid, doesn't matter of what, they can control you more easily if the vast majority of the population live in fear, of mad cow disease, pirates, swine flu, unemployment, biscuit shortage at Tesco, whatever, let's them do what they want.As Tony Blair said at the time of the Iraq invasion doing nothing is not an option..so the have to manufacture an excuse, sorry, reason to do something.
  9. it does seem that the Exeter result has had a bad effect on morale all round. seemed to be saying that the players aren't (as yet) up for either of this week's matches.
  10. why? being a long time resident of foreign shores I really don't get all this PC stuff. Can't you just say what you think (within reason)nowadays? England was always the nirvahna of free speech and uncensored press.
  11. Mmmm Scrubbers who drink pints should all be served with ASBOs
  12. I'm surprised that the Social Security office doesn't run to football tickets as "essential cultural necessities" nowadays.
  13. Well yes 6 was under the West Stand stood on a stool at the front, best view in town Even the old dockers cut down on the 4 letter words for the kids in those days, not so much but a bit anyway. I learnt what f*ck meant after hearing it a lot under the West Stand.
  14. I used to go into the Milton all by my self (well with my hard mates from 1A2 at Tauntons) from about 12 onwards, aggro was just an occupational hazard.No-one looked for it but no-one ran away from it either, same as the school playground or Bitterne Park rec.
  15. no dockers in Millwall anymore, these are spotty college kids, it's not the same thing
  16. We'll go 4-5-1 anyway. We're leading
  17. Smells of burning tea towel to me. (Look up le torchon brûle,which comes from 14th century French)
  18. i'd go Gillett instead of James. Don't rate James in CM at all, too slow in every department. In fact I'd prefer Wotton to James,; at least some little wimp isn't going to get past him without serious collateral damage.
  19.:cool::cool::cool: I certainly have be in a few Wrens in my time, no longer the case though.
  20. I would that I could OSM, I asked for this week off but was told that my country needs me to be where I am and nowhere else for the time being.
  21. good old Ottery, he still has illusions that I actually clean glass windows, now I'm sure that I've explained that before,or given enough clues for you to work it out for yourself.
  22. You're wrong OSM, nothing would give me more pleasure than to see our current set up getting realistic results every week. But I just can't help feeling that with the squad we have we could do so so so much better. Something isn't right, the players don't look sharp, they're not at 100% of their ability although their effort probably can't be faulted.I see chances going begging and yet the midfield gets the blame and that's not right. If there are chances they need to be put away. When we put one more than the opposition away every week there will be no moaning or criticism. ITK???about football probably more than most, not to blow my own trumpet like.
  23. Prost never coached the first team, it's not what he does. He prepares young players to be the finished article the instant the first team manager has need of them. I bet Morgan talks to him on the phone..a lot.
  24. you never know, after Ipswich (i think it was) AP said Wotton was naze and would have to be rested for the next game (on Tuesday) He was there all the same and again for the game after. Keeps saying Rickie needs a break, plays 90 minutes every week. Pardew says stuff that means diddly squat when he talks about "resting" players.
  25. could explain the change of tack on certain transfers I suppose. Perhaps he has advisors that we don't know about. I'm sure that he does. He's probably a cautious man even though he has a billionaire's money behind him.
