  1. The article is mysterious, the missing 40 million just seems to be tacked on at the end of a paragraph without any explanation whatsoever. Why 40 million is supposed to be missing just isn't explained, it's a sum magicked out of thin air with no coherent explanation. I mean why don't they write 50 million, or 50p, without justification the sum is immaterial.Or are we supposed to assume that because we were in the Prem for a long time we should have a lot of money and the fact that we don't means it's been embezzled. Manchester Utd are 650 million in debt as well, does that mean it's gone missing?
  2. He also brought in an extremely doubtful duo that turned our faint play-off hopes into a real relegation drama.
  3. Doubt it, execs said he didn't anyway..
  4. But the players often went 'missing in action' so it's the same thing basically.
  5. Agreed I think Dowie and Adams have gotten so used to being sacked that they're not worth a candle just now. I'm no big Wotte fan but if he had the right players at his disposal all season he may be a better bet than either Shearer,Dowie or Adams. There may be better of course but it'd be a step down for many and depends exactly what the budget is. Just because we may get a guy with serious cash as owner doesn't mean he's going to throw it all at us straightaway. Mike Ashley will serve as a shining example of the ups and downs of football.
  6. Could do worse, Shearer for instance.Tomorrow's match against Skate may just show the exact level of his competence compared with say Paul Hart who's scraped about a bit at the lower levels.
  7. I don't want Shearer, I'd rather have someone who knows what he's doing.
  8. Coppell is packing it in.He won't be anywhere else next year, or the year after either. Unless of course he's just nipping of for a hip operation and to take his wife travelling the world.
  9. I think the loss of Tahir is going to weigh heavily later on. Will he be back when his jaw gets better?
  10. 4th circle is the one for us "Those whose attitude toward material goods deviated from the desired mean are punished in this circle. They include the avaricious or miserly, who hoarded possessions, and the prodigal, who squandered them. Guarded by Plutus, the miserly group pushes great rocks towards the center of the circle; the wasters must take the rocks back to their own side of the circle (Canto VII). This is an antithetical punishment; the sinners must do the opposite of the actions they carried out in life"
  11. I thought he retired from the front line of his profession a couple of years back. I don't know if he's even a trial lawyer or a QC or whatever,a barrister or a solicitor ? I don't know that much about him..
  12. Salz is a legal man, he isn't a financier or a city broker. He's said to have a fine legal brain but as we all know the law has limits, it's mainly about argueing your case with reference to statutes and former cases, it's not an inventive or reckless profession where big balls win the day.
  13. I honestly doubt that Mr Salz has sufficient funds to be a significant part of a consortium to buy out the club. 15/20 million is the going rate, that's a lot of money.
  14. Is that not for violent sins? we are guilty of indulgence, thus circles 1-5 for us. Not a new tack really, I think Atletico Madrid's fans had 'a year in purgatory' T-shirts made up when they got relegated.
  15. Thing is Lowe wouldn't be the top man. Tom Scott is a reasonable guy (from what I hear from the few Guernsey insiders that I know) and would probably do the club proud. If Lowe's role is only minor I don't think there's much to fear. Plus I think Mike Richards would be a good bloke for chairman.
  16. 36 tomorrow in fact, trouble is the forwards in the League 1 are going to get younger and faster and positioning and experience doesn't always counter that.
  17. Indeed, Elizabeth Bishop would have it the it is an art-losing that is. Lose something every day. Accept the fluster of lost door keys, the hour badly spent. The art of losing isn't hard to master. Then practice losing farther, losing faster: places, and names, and where it was you meant to travel. None of these will bring disaster. _ Quite apt I think, we have become so used to losing and ignomy that we can accept relegation to the third tier and a points deduction with little difficulty.
  18. Women out... of football.
  19. But then we had one of those, his side are currently leading Man U 2-0 at Old Trafford, but we imposed Sir Clive FkinWoodward on him and ****ed him off. .
  20. Is that better than the 3rd division south though? Have I gone full circle yet.
  21. And we seem to have our fair share of them.
  22. Need better strikers than that I'm afraid. No more Wotton either thanks, Perry may be too old for League 1 next year. We need 3 or 4 players minimum.
  23. Didn't, they got -10 and then -17 I think, jiggery pokery, multiple administrations, failing to agree terms with creditors and all that stuff. Probably was -15 but the FL probable gave them a couple extra for LLS.
  24. Not so much , it could be that the last play-off place in that league requires a staggering 80 points this year, imagine that we'd need 90 or more. P46 W25 D15 L6 sort of scale.
  25. Might as well save the money, it won't work anyway. Result today? very much as expected, in fact it was quite decent, Burnley are* a good side, perhaps not today because they just needed a point .
