Didn't come up with Paul Allen either, talked about that in the Echo as well. In fact the execs told him not to talk to the Echo any more For those who have short memories here is a little anonymous bijou from the Ugly http://www.clubfanzine.com/southampton/v2.showNews.php?id=8592

Has he got any money?? If so , you know what you have to do Scooby old man, invest in the good guidance of Lord Lowe.

Few clubs could actually afford Shearer but what does that matter. I suppose he must make a few bob out of TV punditting so it's not very likely that he's going to chuck it in to manage Chester or Gillingham is it. He wants to manage Newcastle, he just ain't saying so.

But this is what I said when I was talking about Morgan yesterday. Young players who are fired up and willing to play under most circumstance just can't understand these can't care less attitudes from senior pros, many of them look up to the older guys and it's not good for the youngsters to be around that sort of attitude. Won't even mention money as it's not primordial for most of the young men---yet. Why exactly does he feel hard done by? Is it this thing about asking Hertha for a fee again? Normal 2 years contract, international =fee.
-
Yes but he doesn't have the Pro Licence needed as yet. Don't know whether they still do "exemptions" on that until the next set of courses in off season.

Fair enough, we're getting somewhere near the truth anyway it would seem. Skacel had a villainous reputation at Hibs, after the honeymoon was over of course,he also left a lot of people very unimpressed by his attitude at Marseille

None better, we let you win last time to avoid mass suicides in Skates fair city.

Sorry, slipped into the wrong language mode there. English isn't my most used language most of the time, some times I slip in the various forms and usages.I am also an abysmal typist.

I don't think DMG will start this time. Call it intuition. I think some of Jan's barbs on Saturday were firmly for his attention. Not as good as he thinks, yep that's about right. Mills, and DMG dropped, perhaps James given a go in midfield .

Are those who could invest the biggest traitors?

With all that money I could give Pamela Anderson a miss though, I'm sure I could find a younger, racier model with sufficient dosh. All the other rich bastards seem to. -
I've got a feeling he's caved in and is going to play left back. That's what it looks like on the "from" list on the OS. I would say, and I'm probably wrong, that we're going for a Cork Lancashire Perry Skacel back 4 the James Mills experiment is perhaps being reviewed. Anyway thanks to the 454 people over the break even number last saturday perhaps we can pay Rudi's "appearance fee" :smt051:smt051:smt051 Yep 454x£24 is certainly greater than £2.93

The closure of Ford would certainly be a big blow to the local economy. Couldn't they lengthen the runway at Eastleigh if the knocked Ford's down?? With the congestion at the 2 London airports and the good motorway links I think that might be a prime target for any government. Best of luck with the petition

Hmm, I would tentatively suggest that the "core" support has been assessed down to a margin of error of 500 or so.There are 10K season ticket holders, 4000 matchday hardliners and the rest depends on opposition and the weather. They will know exactly when to act, we will know when there are special offers. I am no great fan of Wilde,Lowe or Cowan but they are pretty astute and idiots they aren't, no matter what we like to think. As I see it (and I could be way way off base) our only objective this season is survival and cost reduction. When you see special matchday offers you'll know that we're off our targets. -
No of course not, just some casual reflection on lack of activity.
-
Perhaps you're right Marco, I know he agreed Rasiak; I don't know anything about any pre-arrangements for all the rest. At one time Skacel was wanting out of Hibs, virtually days after he was definitely signed from Marseille. This is documented in various places, his agent wanted Romanov to let him go for £1 million; West Ham and Fulham were interested I believe. Other than that I know nothing.

Except last Saturday Johnny, he didn't get back from Port of Spain until well into Friday, played Wednesday night which means early Thursday morning for us. As he'd been injured at Doncaster he wasn't picked at Coventry. I don't think there's any conspiracy with John, he has played, has got injured and has been on international duty. Now that's one of the imponderable aleas of global football. If John hadn't played in port of Spain up till 3am BST last Thursday he might have played for us last Saturday, taken the 2 penalties and scored them both. We might have done Watford over and be mid table and pleased as punch today, thinking we might turn up trumps against Sheff U..

Crouch,Wilde,Corbett and Mcenemy,Dulieu,Hone,Hoos and Trant Take your pick exactly which one of them decided to pander to the ego of Burley on that occasion. I can't remember who was chairman of football, plc and whatever and when. Some even said at the time Crouch was putting his hand in his pocket for certain players.I can"'t remember if Skacel was in that category, don't think it's true though because Hone said it wasn't. Although Crouch didn't mind everyone thinking it was.

is not the directors principal responsibility towards the shareholders at all times? I seem to remember that they are the custodians of the investors investment and it is up to them to protect it. Other than it being common sense to be customer aware I don't think they have any responsibility towards the paying customer whatsoever, apart to those of them who are shareholders. If whatever they do that may alienate customers has a value greater than the saving made by doing it then they are at fault but if the end justifies the means ,then they've done their job. Let's say they get rid of a fans favourite who costs say 600K a year. Unless that individual decision costs the club 30000 fans per season ie about 1250 per game (allowing for VAT) then their decision is justified. For every player like that who may or may not have been contributing fully to the clubs survival or demise then the same equation applies. In giving the boot to Safri,Viafara,Vignal,Hammill,Ostlund,Licka,Makin,Powell, Lundekvam and Wright and loaning out Rasiak and Saganowski the club have saved about 5 million a year . That means 250000 spectators over the season. Or more than 10000 per game, probably 11 or 12K if you count concessions instead of full whack. So as long as 15K go every hopme game they are right royally quids in in protecting the shareholders investment. As long as we survive, they've done their job whether we ,the fans like it or not. -
In fact, that's what Spurs board said would happen if the results didn't improve. Probably less expensive to fire than Ramos. I believe Comolli is held responsible for the sale of Berbatov nd Keane against the wishes of Ramos and the purchase of some Russian wonder kid of whom I forget the name. They wanted Arsavin (is that right?) but couldn't get him so Comolli was determined to get a Russian for mega bucks. Why? I 'll leave you all to speculate.

Perhaps, the only really significant sales of late have been on a see saw basis, the really amazing thing is that there are no movements whatsoever and no solid blocks available at the quoted price. If you want 30000 shares you've to pay over the odds for them.I am beginning to think the entirety of our share issue has been virtually concentrated into 2 poles(all with satellites) and that there are virtually no free market shares available. But I'm not a citeh wallah, I just think about things a lot when I'm out on those mind numbing 5 and 6 hour runs. Still a nice 8 hour off road race this Sunday should give me ample time to reflect on this and many more vital subjects.

why do you people tolerate this sort of thing

Father Christmas lives in Finland, he no longer does football or world peace related requests, preferring to leave these to doubtful financiers and NGO's. -
Forum rules don't dictate anything. You are saying that Skacel isn't being played because of appearance money or whatever. You say you know somebody who "would" know. All I am doing is reminding you of the law of the land regarding diffamation and spreading false rumour with intent to denigrate the character of people. I'm quite sure that the guys who run the club couldn't give a toss about what's said on this forum, unless it becomes too insistent and degrading and the club itself starts to suffer because of rumour and innuendo put about with just that purpose in mind. Then they might act, or they might not. Who knows you might be perfectly right, half right or totally wrong. There are certainly people who know just as much as you do about the internal workings of the club and the PlC,some of them post regularly but they are very measured in what they leak, if anything at all.

Trouble is no-one has the drop on Sasha, it's his dad that's the gunner runner or whatever.
