  1. Aren't Newcastle playing Everton in some sort of youth team final today or tomorrow?
  2. That was Victor wasn't it?
  3. Umtiti was on the bench, don't know what his problem is just now but he'd have done a better job than either Pique or Lenglet if he was on top form. Seems to be a modern Barca problem, they keep buying players that they don't need and keep playing the ones who are on the way down. Probably a result of uncompetitive domestic football. I mean look at Digne, far better than that idiot that they had at LB last night.
  4. Wasn't Mané's problem about him being consistently late on parade for training and team meetings?
  5. No need to waste anyone's time in discussions, just ship him out to somewhere that's at his level, whatever that may be.
  6. Who was that then ? Lambert was fading, JayRod got injured and we had no-one else IIRC. Oh Osvaldo, forgot about him but as he was always either injured or suspended that's not surprising really.
  7. We were in 2013/2014.
  8. They'll win the ECL. Neither Ajax or Spurs will be good enough to stop them. From last night's game I got the impression that somehow the absence of Salah made them by far less predictable, perhaps that's just the way Barca played though.
  9. Absolutely right. Ralph has lost more games than he's won with Saints, no top club will be running after him as of yet.
  10. We aren't trying to compete with the Top 6 anyway. We just play them all a couple of times each season, sometimes get the odd good result as well. We had our chance a few years back, we blew it because we couldn't or wouldn't drum up a few quid for a real striker when we needed one. Top 6 clubs don't do that, they always have money for whatever they need, whether they spend it wisely is something else.
  11. None of the top 6 from the previous season I suppose. Both articles seem to say though that it's an arrangement and not a fixed rule. How did they get on when Leicester made Top 6 I ask myself.
  12. That's the way I see it, so does the Liverpool OS. Still there'll always be people who know better than most. https://www.liverpoolfc.com/team/first-team/player/danny-ings
  13. But in reality City and Liverpool will probably both win 3-0 after going ahead in the first 10-15 minutes and the day will be a total anti-climax. The PL need to programme some games between "big teams" in the last 2 rounds of fixtures. Liverpool derby, North London derby and Manchester derby on the last day would shake the bag up a bit.
  14. But Bran sees the past and sometimes bits of the future. Surely seeing the what the future holds for Ings is just what's needed here.
  15. So the quarters are on Thursday or Friday ?
  16. Irks a bit that we have to give them about 2/3 of the price that they paid us for Mané for the insipid Ings. Didn't want him in the first place, certainly don't now. I'd certainly try to welsh on the deal if I could find a way.
  17. Don't know about the pre-qualifying but if Arsenal should win the Europa Leage then we have 5 teams in the CL and only 2 in the Europa League. United plus either the cup winners (if not City) or the 7th placed team.
  18. Amazing, April has come and gone and I don't think Hants have lost a single whole day to rain. Just a few overs for bad light on the first few days of the season and a bit of a rain delay once or twice.
  19. A sure fire recipe for signing more garbage. If you want top players you pay whatever they ask. If you don't or can't you get to scrub around in the bargain basement with the results we've seen nigh on every season for about 6 years.
  20. Forster was a good keeper until he got injured. Seems far less mobile now.
  21. Window Cleaner

    Gao

Really ? We've spent a lot of money since Gao bought the club, only trouble being that most of it was just simply wasted on crap.
  22. Well then he sounds like a used car salesman trying to pass off an old banger as a "good little runner, one careful owner" to some poor mug.
  23. Indeed, they didn't need to rush into that decision. Could have given it until the end of the season. Probably Old Sir Alex thinking he could get his hand back on the rudder by appointing one of his binkies. United need to get that old fogey completely out of their system. When they've done that they can start moving forward again.
  24. And yet they survived last seson in the PL, finishing above us if I recall correctly.
  25. Not a question of playing again really, a question of returning to the same pre-injury level. Doubt that we insure anyway, costs a fortune apparently. Forster used to be a really good keeper so seeing him as he now is is a bit sad.
