A fair few of these matches aren't really contests. Sri Lanka looked to have Australia under control today but the Aussies are just showing that they can up the rate whenever they want with their top order. They'll make about 330 no doubt and bowl Sri Lanka out for about 260. England, Australia,New Zealand, India for the semis. Might as well cut to the chase and start on best of 3 semis .

Ahem; This is where it's at lads. https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?61018-Women%92s-World-Cup#.XQS9BxYza1s

Pretty soft penalty that the French got yesterday evening ?? I mean the norwegian cleared the ball and just kicked the french woman a bit on her follow through.
-
I seem to remember they had a dodgy one dayer on the last day of a rain affected match for 10 points and we got nothing at all. Might have been a different year though. I remember being in Honiton for some reason or other at the time though.
-
Well yes but it's rubbish anyway so you don't really need to know what it says. Adrien Rabiot will not sign for a non-CL side no matter how much money they'd be willing to pay him (in this case a signing on fee of 15 million euros is cited).
-
Well of course it's BS, latest I heard he was even considering staying at PSG because his mum is such an a/h to deal with. Every time a club thinks they've agreed a deal with him she comes back with a new list of requirements to be tacked on.
-
Don't do that, his mum will come over and beat you up. Proper mummy's boy is notre Adrien. http://i.f1g.fr/media/ext/1152x648_crop/sport24.lefigaro.fr/var/plain_site/storage/images/football/ligue-1/actualites/veronique-rabiot-estime-que-son-fils-est-otage-du-psg-949712/25584279-1-fre-FR/Veronique-Rabiot-estime-que-son-fils-est-otage-du-PSG.jpg

Or even better do away with women only competitions entirely and have just mixed gender events. Let them see how it feels to take a 25-0 or so beating by a middle ranked men's side. Pay to be based on results of course. I agree entirely with equal pay for equal work but in this case it isn't is it.
-
Seen it all before. At least the dodgy one dayers on the last day of rain affected matches are a thing of the past. We'd have probably been better off if we were playing at Trent Bridge instead of some farmyard, colliery out-ground.
-
Alex Morgan you mean ? Thought she made Shane Long look a bit puny.

To be sure they can all enter but it's FIFA's job to ensure that pure rubbish like the Thais, totally inadapted to football, don't make fools of themselves before a global audience. They obviously want maximum commercial revenue so effectively they've allowed a nation to do exactly that.
-
Match drawn already, so that's no play again today. Whether that would have been the situation on a regular ground or not I couldn't say. Result is we only get 8 points from a pretty easy match on paper.
-
You are absolutely right there, the Thais, among others, shouldn't be in this tournament and 16 teams would be quite enough. But then it's about commercial issues again isn't it.
-
But then mens teams wouldn't just give up like the Thais last night. they were all too small and they knew it, gave up at 4 or 5 nil. Didn't Brazil get tonked 7-1 or something by Germany in 2014 ? Further back there were tournaments when qualifying for the knock-out stages depended on how many you put past Zaire , think the Yougoslavs scored 9 or so.
-
But the problem is within thec system of attribution of the places. From what I understood the Thais were qualified because they were 4th in the Asian Championship, perhaps there were ony 4 teams for all I know. They're classed 32nd or 34 th or something in the FIFA standings so in theory there are better teams who don't get a spot because of the geographical system of qualifying. It's the same as the men's world cup, better teams don't get a place because of the bias towards Central America, Asia and Africa.

An excellent start on Sunday against Notts. Now looking like the best we can hope for is a full day's play tomorrow allowing us to get some batting points as well. Season was going too well from a weather point of view, 2 washed out days have righted that then.
-
I've not watched a lot of women's football before but it seems to me that the style of football that they all seem to be trying to play is straight out of the old coaching manuals with very little personal panache at all. I mean it's watchable, but then so are U13 games. Watched both games yesterday and the number of stray passes and poor ball controls would send most coaches into fits of rage. Still there are a few reputedly good teams still to go on show, perhaps it'll be better. Mind you at least there was a bit of oomph in the Cameroon-Canada game, even a bit of rolling about on the deck.
-
And we sold for about 105 million so we actually invested nothing at all. But we bought players that we later sold for even more and so on and so forth. Execept for the last couple of years where we've just bought donkeys who've not grown in value.
-
Obvious since day 1 of her "reign". Wanted (or needed) the money and nothing was to stand in her way of getting it...eventually.
-
Can't even remember who's in our midfield actually, they were that discreet. Henderson came on at the end, didn't make much difference. That nonce Delph should be nowhere near the national side and Rice...well he's nowhere near ready at that level either. Circumstances probably led to such a poor side last night though. Normally we'd have Henderson and Winks in midfield wouldn't we?
-
England need better centre backs, that's all . Why no Keane last night? Better than Calamity John Stones really.
-
South Africa look as if they could be up against it again today. Both openers gone already with just 24 on the board. Is Markram just dropped or has he some sort of injury? Would have thought he'd be among the first on their list with the match being at the Aegeas and all.
-
Total looked pretty gettable actually but with the 2 early wickets it was always going to be a big ask.

Wasn't he in The Krankies ?
