* Not a bad time that,it may depend on weather conditions though, that last 3 miles or so is difficult if you get a sprite south westerly. Not run the GSR since about 94 but when there was a headwind at the end I ran about 55,with a tailwind the year before think I did about 52.30 or something like that.

I would like to see him play there tomorrow with Chappy out on the right, gives us a bit more oomph when we're on the defensive as well. Couldn't say what the side will actually be though because NA doesn't seem to appreciate that system, we don't know if Adam is fit and of course there's the imponderable CM situation. My team for tomorrow would be (assuming AL is fit to start) Davis Richardson Fonte Jos Fox Any 2 of Morgan/Hammond/Cork Chappy AL Guly Rickie.

I have the impression that Rickie's "status" causes us problems when we're trying to sign strikers. I couldn't exactly put my finger on why but I'm sure it does.I don't see it as a great problem but from Tuesday's showing it has some effect because we just cannot seem to sign strikers of any shape or form. Don't start me on Forte...he's a winger.

Always has been with road running, at first we had a marathon for about 3/4 years in the 80's,then it became a half, the inaugural GSR was in Southampton...ran that just the once in 1990 ,then the half disappeared and there was a half-hearted attempt at a 10K but the problem was always the same...closing roads in the City Centre and it's surrounds.Still there a few good races around Southampton as far as I know,Netley and Eastleigh both run a 10K, there used to be a well subscribed 10 miler at Toothill at about this time of year...my what a leg breaker that was..started from Rowhnams rec or thereabouts if I remember correctly. NB Looked it up on Hampshire AA's website. The Toothill 10 has become the Lordshill 10 miles and it's next Sunday,so if you get round this Sunday with too much damage you could always have a stab at that.Hope Toothill isn't on the circuit though,I remember throwing up a cherry yoghurt at the top of that beasty, serves me right shouldn't have eaten it beforehand I guess.

Well I've just trawled through the programme and have found out, much to my surprise and delight, that we're up on L'Equipe TV again tomorrow afty. Thought it was West Ham-Leicester but it's obviously been changed. So there will be a stream from that because I know L'Equipe TV does live streaming.
-
that would be because the honourable whingers of Southampton don't want the road to the bakery or the newspaper kiosque closed of a Sunday morning. Portsmouth Council close main drags willingly for the GSR,their Southampton counterparts won't. Pompey also probably give a bigger subvention to this event than Southampton were willing to. The GSR used to alternate between Southampton and Portsmouth but there were issues with closing the Avenue on a Sunday morning.

De Ridder is this season's Dickson!! seems to have his unconditional fans who think he should start every game, unfortunately for both of them NA isn't amongst them. Might not even be on the bench if Adam is fit and Barney gets the nod.
-
Perhaps he likes being guaranteed a start.I really really doubt that he turned us down over just money. Can't be making a foryune at Doncaster now can he. Anyway probably no great loss, Simon Gillett has scored the same number of goals as Sharp so far this season.
-
Doubt it,Fonte was in training on the videos and Fonte and Hooiveld is our primary defensive pairing.
-
I think Birmingham were very diminished when we played them,a Euro League game on the Thursday before and quite a few injuries, not the same side that's bombing up the table now.Still you can only play against the opposition in front of you.Doubt if Boro are as good as the real Birmingham side..ie the one they have now.
-
Better class of bin in Chandler's Ford as well. I bet some of those up the Hursley Road are made from solid gold and full of jewels.
-
Depends entirely on who we put onto the field. Not overly confident myself, goalscoring has become a problem of late.Don't think our front 2 have scored in about 4/5 games have they?
-
Thing is as there's no birth time involved even in 1955 you were + or - 100,000 or so,today those born at 3 am are probably separated from the 23.55 brigade by nigh on a million. It's like astrology...a big pile of steaming bullcrap unless there's precision to it.I mean 1/12th of the earth's population aren't all going to be run over by a truck on the 4th Tuesday of January now are they!!
-
In Logan's Run it was 30. Bet that Jenny Agutter is still quite pneumatic.Must be going on 60 now though.
-
Doubt it, I think Chorley threw an entire year's subscriptions at Rupert Lowe,no doubt about 40p in coppers. Mind you NC would have probably had them picked up...waste not, want not

Jamie's old man said be a Pompey fan, he said f*ck off,bollôx you're a c***
-
And that's not surprising really, our side wasn't all that weak,it had nothing at the sharp end that's all. Here we spoilt the ship for the proverbial hap'orth of tar.I presume that's because NA overestimated the scoring ability of SDR. He's probably one of these players who looks sh*t hot in a strong side but can do nothing when he's got it all to do for himself.
-
Of course not but I'm sure that we could have obtained another first team striker though. We seemed to set the bar a bit high...which is good but not if you don't clear it in any of your three tries(using a high jump or pole vault analogy)
-
We wouldn't have bought De Ridder if Chamberlain was still here, trouble is we've replaced a sure fire starter with another "impact player".
-
Looking at last night's results it would seem to me that the league Cup is now a squad rotation exercise for the EPL juggernauts. Citeh,Utd,Arsenal,Liverpool and Chelsea all in the last 8

in relation to Dan Seaborne incident
Window Cleaner replied to Saint in Paradise's topic in The Saints
Point is the check-out girl in question will get sacked for a trifle that actually costs her employers nothing and the footballer in question won't for what to me is a gross misconduct. -
Forte. Needs more playing time, or just not good enough?
Window Cleaner replied to CWD's topic in The Saints
My what a lot of strikers they have, never mind we've got 3 left backs.....no contest. -
they don't, they get 30 minutes at the end. Now let me see did Ox have trouble getting a game or Theo or an 18 year old Morgan or an 18 year old Cork...nope don't remember that.If you're good enough, you're old enough. Zaha is 17, he's a starter at Palace.
-
Next Tuesday then, look forward to him running the show against Posh whilst our other 4 CMs have a night off in the stands.

Window Cleaner replied to CWD's topic in The Saints
Forte used to be quite a regular at Sheffield.S****horpe/Doncaster/Lincoln. He's chalked up 200+ league appearances for his various clubs, not so dusty at all, scores at about 1 goal every 7 games. So he's not what you'd really call a striker.Started pretty young as well so that lightning speed might just have the edge knocked off of it by now. Still think he'd be better as a classic wide man if necessary with Guly at the sharp end. Then again he may offer nothing whatsover in the defensive department so extremely unlikely to get much playing time as a wide man either.
