  1. * I was a bit worried about Fonte actually, he just cannot keep his arms to himself, one day he's going to give away a penalty when we just don't need it.Liked Jos though, thought his game was more sophisticated than Fonte's.
  2. Looked as if he had a bit of a knock. Good result though, especially after going behind so early on,thought we could have done with a little bit more at the sharp end. Well pleased all the same.
  3. Won't bring the same skill level to the game, might be a darned sight more effective in front of goal though. If we could get him into the same position that Adam has been in and missed with his shot or header we might get a lot more success from Chappers.
  4. 3 surely, Guly is an advance midfielder.
  5. Hammond injured as well then?? If so not a great 2 weeks rest period, went into it with a fully fit squad, no competitve games, half the squad banged up at the end, footballers need competitve matches otherwise they train too hard .
  6. I'd think so yes, Jagielka could get a game as a keeper for a lot of sides, might even be better than most NPC incumbents.
  7. If I remember rightly some posters thought him a suitable candidate for Saints at one time. You cannot judge a man on his track record at pompey, can't be easy getting results of any kind when you've only got about 18 players on the books. Imagine if we only had 18,we'd be sh*t as well if we got any serious injuries. We've already used 26 players this season
  8. That would be difficult because it isn't.Unless you're looking at countries like Holland and Norway which aren't really comparable because of their relatively small populations and highish tax rates the UK doesn't have a high jobless total. What it does have is an incredible number of layabouts on every street corner,I guess in other countries the young unemployed are just less noticeable. However I might venture to say that because of the UK's exhorbitant housing cost it might not be particularly attractive for young people to take lower paid jobs.Don't get me started on the University system though cos I'd just get banned. The Uk has made Unis out of tech colleges and the graduates coming out of them aren't up to scratch.
  9. the only Navy that Maggie destroyed belonged to the Argentines.
  10. Cleaning up the mess that is today's UK might create a whole lot of employment, the instant you get out of the Tunnel at Folkestone you notice the difference, hedgerows sprawling all over the road, sh*t just thrown down everywhere, grass borders which look as they've been u**** since Tudor times, roads full of potholes.....but for all that you'd have to pay taxes and not spend every other weekend in Dubai or Thailand. edit....if you write uncùt the swear filter assimilates it to u c*nt...strange must be a full time job in fixing that.
  11. you get it with Canal Sat,Free, Cable or whatever you're on. Channel 83 on yer standard Canal Sat box.
  12. ooooooooooh big news, the match is now live on L'Equipe TV, looks like they paid attention to the mail I sent them explaining that showing Pompey-Barnsley was akin to showing any regional league match and that Derby-Saints was the pick of the day's NPC games. How you could dip into the stream I couldn't say but you should be able to get the satellite feed most places in Northern Europe.
  13. Last I heard on the subject they were all gone home again cos the UK is such a shît place.
  14. If they made this a surprise mandatory test for all UK citizens the place would be empty. I got 14 but then I don't live in the dump and have no interest in whether divorce became accessible to all in 1857 or 1875.
  15. Absolutely no chance, won't even be on the bench unless we have injuries.
  16. Perhaps it's not the player but Reading's handling of him. Pards is a good manager,we have a good set up. Reading..not so much, can't even remember which tea boy they've got as manager nowadays since Rogers went to Swansea.
  17. Of course, their bible is Machavelli's "Prince" which contains excellent advice on all sorts or skullduggery, evasive tactics and what have you. There's the famous advice about "sometimes words being necessary to veil the truth" as well
  18. Bring back the good old days when yer ordinary bloke didn't give a flying one about politics, politicians, the stock exchange, the Royal Family, what some slut from Basildon did on her holidays etc etc etc.
  19. If he'd taken a lady friend no-one would probably have even noticed. I used to take my "lady friend" on most of my trips, called her my secretary or PA or whatever. You get a reputation as a bit of a lad and a top notch fella. Take a bloke ...no-one wanted to know you.
  20. One out of the 8 that Japan put past Tajikstan
  21. the UK becomes more and more like some central american banana republic every day.
  22. not glamourous because we aren't top heavy with ex-EPL hacks you mean ?
  23. no he won't and no we won't.
  24. Belay my last, I think we should be on against Reading on Oct 22, I've worked out that they take whatever Championship matches that are on the BBC and Sky Sports. So all you Europe based fans that can capt L'Equipe TV should be able to look in.
