  1. I read somewhere that Adu was on a list of unemployed players.Probably something to do with his time at Monaco though.Didn't know he'd ever been signed by Benfica must be recent
  2. You can probably expect most of them to write off a broken cup or a smudge on the wallpaper every 6 years or so.We rent out our parisian flat, the letting agent charges the tenants for everything that's not in order which isn't noted on the "état des lieux" but getting paid for everything is sometimes a bit difficult now that the "depot de caution" has legally been cut to 1 month. You'd be surprised at the mess seemingly nice people leave behind not to mention the things that don't work properly any more cos some idiot has fixed them when they didn't need fixing.
  3. Pilkington is too old to be a prodigy. The papers like em young and spectacular. If we don't get 10 million of Ox now I doubt that we ever will,we'll get money to be sure but not that much.
  4. Doubt it, the tenant is usually responsible for leaving the premises in the state that he found them. That's why you have an "état des lieux" or inventory.
  5. Problem is Chaplow was baked by the time Giggs and Nani came on, could be a result of him being out through injury a couple of time already, could be because of the running he did in the first half but he was all in. Left Morgan all alone in CM and with less outlets in front of him.We tired badly and because we had nothing significant on the bench we paid the price. If we'd had say Hammond on the bench to come on at 65 and steel up the midfield and let Morgan push forward it would have been a different story I'm sure.Gobern couldn't do that job so we had to persist with the knackered Chappers who wasn't producing anywhere as near as much as in the first 45.
  6. Maybe there was never anything very real in any of all this but even if there was AOC didn't do anywhere near enough on Saturday to persuade any top club to part with 8/10 million on the nail. He was far from being our best player and showed a lot of naivety when faced with superior quality players. He'll learn to be sure but he'll still be available to be snapped up when he's got a bit more savvy to compliment his obvious talent.
  7. Murray doesn't take the penalties though, that job fall to Barnes who has scored 2 more than Lambert as well.Lambert 4 goals all competitions from open play against Murray's 11 league goals
  8. I read that Ilunga was possibly on his way out, can't remember where to though,Monaco maybe.
  9. I would have thought the Newcastle press call was about Ireland.
  10. Must be that, can't remember who they have in central defence nowadays but Downes may well have identified Martin as a shrewd investment for the future.I suppose Grant could have had him looked over when he was at Skate as well as part of his local scouting network.
  11. They probably just like the name, Alvin Martin did a great job for West Ham for a long time, probably still got a few spare Martin 5 shirts hanging about.
  12. we'd have Sky money though and Blackpool seem to be competing well enough. The art of the EPL is surviving the first season combined with astute investment.
  13. Right, thought it must have been this summer, that's a come and get me call then.
  14. I see Le Fondre has said he won't renew his contract with Rotherham then, might be worth a few quid to get him now because I doubt if they'll want to loan him out for his last 6 months.
  15. So we need someone on form now right??
  16. Except that getting out of League 1 isn't just about being a class above everybody else, it's about scoring goals from all of those chances your fabulous(well by League 1 standards) midfield creates. Looked at Huddersfield yesterday and they were roughly the same in the second half but Pilkington to me looked by far superior to AOC.. same boots though..
  17. Tennents might have an effect though.
  18. Worn an England shirt, that's all it takes these days.
  19. Although why he should imagine that girlzz have dikks is hard to explain, perhaps there are a lot of hermaphrodites in Devon.
  20. I watched the first set and as Murray couldn't cash in on Djokovic's edginess it was pretty obvious that he'd lose.
  21. this is probably it.
  22. I thought that, if we had a player worth 10 million on display yesterday....well it wasn't Ox to be sure.
  23. Indeed Chaplow was good yesterday but he burnt himself out in about 50 minutes, whether that's a reflection on some of the others in the side or that he doesn't know how to pace himself I couldn't say but as we had no viable alternative on the bench and Man U had the heavy artillery in reserve it caused problems. The France 4 commentators remarked on it by saying that because he was everywhere early on he ended up by being nowhere. We really needed an effective sub for him on 60 minutes. Now I thought Ox was pretty insignificant on the game, perhaps he was playing too deep though but if anyone offered me a lot of money for him on yesterday's performance I'd fall over myself to take it.Maybe a great talent but showed very little of it yesterday. Thought Harding was great, but then I always have, that he has the occasional bad game is a problem cos when they're both on full tilt Dickson just isn't in his league. Once again to win this we needed a bit more clinical finishing,as we often do, but at the end of the day we put on a great show and we probably couldn't afford to win anyway because of our fixture backlog and the points gap at the top of our league.
  24. With Lallana we'd probably have won.
  25. Hammond ??????????
