no with either he or Morgan playing in front of the other 2 in a free role,it works for a lot of other sides that don't use conventional wide players.It might allow us to play higher up than of late.Lambert used to like going out wide a bit last year, oh I don't mean racing down the flank all the time but he did have a penchant for pulling out wide right and launching attacks from there.With Lallana,Barney and Lambert we'd have a very nice looking 4-3-3 set up and benefit from all our better players being on the pitch at the same time.

True getting out of this League is primordial, that's why going behind in tricky little away matches like Notts C is so depressing,because if you lose that sort of game you'll be in League 1 in 2060.Our defending is still suspect, not the defenders per se but we're still getting it wrong in certain dead ball situations, exactly why Lallana and or Barnard were supposed to be marking the advancing CB yesterday just beggars all belief,neither of them are very good in the air are they.It's a trait that seems to run throughout League 1 because Fonté goal last week came from exactly the same sort of situation, except that he was totally unmarked.

I see that Gary Johnson at Posh is asking himself if he really has any influence over his side's performances. Probably not relative to Adkins situation but I don't doubt that some of our recent managers had no control real over the players.

i think we have improved overall but I could see that some players have taken a step sideways if not backwards, Lambert, Puncheon and Morgan in particular.In the cases of Lambert and Puncheon I couldn't say why but I think Morgan may be looking forward to January, hasn't been the same since his last bleuets outing and getting dropped on his return.May be he's had indication of an offer he may not want to refuse.

Brighton are a different matter altogether, they have a really good side and a good manager to boot. Don't expect them to drop off the pace very much at all and I wouldn't be at all surprised if they get promotion.Ankergren,Calderon and Kishishev are all first rate players and we would be lucky to have any of them,if they stay fit Brighton will be there or thereabouts. Bournemouth are all huff and puff and once their style is sussed out they'll go down like Christine Keeler.

JP seems to have changed his style of play of late, he used to be a bit of a card collector, total of 9 yellows and a red last season, now he's gone all pussy and I don't think he's had a single card this season as yet.Anyway as I don't think AOC is as yet ready for week in week out 90 minute football I might be persuaded to try a Hammond,Schneiderlin,Chaplow,Lallana midfield and keep Barney and Lambert in attack against Dagenham.

Doesn't matter really, from the still photo on the OS it looks like a scissors tackle from behind,tackling behind being outlawed whether or not you touch the ball it just doesn't make any difference,especially if you sweep a players leg or legs from under him whilst doing it. It is a commonly held fallacy that "getting a foot on the ball" alters the legality of a bad tackle..it doesn't.

Anyway what we don't want to do(Merrington hasn't copyrighted that phrase has he?) is go behind in the first 10 minutes of the game as we have in the last couple of weeks. It crisps us up and makes us nervy and imprecise.I'm sure that if we hadn't been one down Hammond wouldn't have missed that sitter yesterday.The players know that we need to win most of our games now and not lose any at all and going behind doesn't help.Luckily we got the penalty yesterday(not that it was lucky or anything) but if the defender hadn't made that stupid tackle we might not have won if you catch my drift.A draw would have been an acceptable result yesterday so getting even changed everything.
