  1. Exactly Dune. When I was a young lad, whiling away my time at one of Southampton's illustrious dotheboys halls ,an English master, in an off topic moment,no doubt due to the nervous exhaustion caused by trying to make me,an 11 year old with a science bent, understand the precise necessity of being able to quote verbatim from Lady Precious Stream at some future time in my life, told me that you always get what you pay for was a rough definition of quality.I pay 4 euros a month for Saints Player, it's well worth it and the live commentary works well most of the time.
  2. with a bit of luck it will be Dean Wilkins, then we could send the under 7 girls on Saturday and still win easily.
  3. don't think so, the clubs agree it between themselves. Now I doubt if Shrewsbury will agree to rock bottom prices because their 42% (or whatever it is) cut would be ridiculously small and they'll want to make a couple of bob from this one. They'll want at least 10£ for full price tickets if not more.
  4. but goals are all he does, that's why we have one of the worse goals for totals in our division. Lambert has just one purpose in our side ,scoring goals because other than that he is just average to sub-par.We just have to do something about this problem before it's too late. To me 3 penalties,a deflected free kick and a header are a p*ss poor total for a hot shot striker unless he's creating goals for others by inspired forward play,as he isn't doing either that he has no place in the side at the moment.
  5. and why would they suddenly all be doing that, because the ball is heavier and they need to put more force onto it perhaps.
  6. Well I don't know, you need to be able to see the organisation of the blocks to be able to tell exactly how we're playing and for that you need a bird's eye view. This is the vast advantage of football on canal +, their statistics and camera work are really exceptional (not that we're on there of course) Every player has a passing yard stat, a ball played, lost, won and distance covered stat as well as a complete run down of where they were when they played the ball and what they did with it(an image with a load of yellow dots on it) or received it. You can tell exactly who's doing what at all times.
  7. Perhaps our problem is that the advanced midfielders aren't dropping back to help out. It seems to be a fairly popular opinion that our midfield is Hammond (or Chaplow) and Schneiderlin but it is really, Hammond,Schneiderlin,Lallana and Puncheon, perhaps the latter two are playing wide too much instead of centrally but behind the strikers. Now it would seem to me that the bloke from Rochdale, Jones, is one of their advanced midfielders and also their leading scorer. Perhaps we need more from Lallana (or Puncheon) in the "running" of midfield because if the others are coming with 4 and we've two and two wide were ****ged.
  8. I see that the ball is different since the start of this season. Would this in any way explain why we are skying so many over the bar of late??
  9. all of them, except Lambert he is our number 1 problem, everything else stems from it, he just isn't fit, he's a yard or two off every ball, he's not harrying defenders, forcing them into errors that we can profit from.Other than that I think the lads are doing a great job. Fonté was just a reflection on "a clean sheet".
  10. bit rich, it was a fluffed header from him the eventually led to their goal.
  11. But our first goal came from what was effectively a corner, Fonte got a free header that's all. The effectiveness of corners depend on how well the opposition defend them. I'm sure that all our routines are magnificent on the training pitch, it's just that the opponents defend better than our reserves.
  12. Clubs instruct ball-boys about this ...oh they'll say they don't but then...........
  13. keeper of what??cats, mice,snails?? he was a midfielder,defensive variety
  14. wouldn't happen nowadays though, there were some pretty sh*t goalkeepers and defenders in his day.
  15. In fact I would like to see all these suggestions put into practice, just once, we'd be 15 down at half time .We have a manager who is paid to pick the team and determine it's playing style. We need to leave the job to him .
  16. he was crap yesterday, Milner that is.But then so were all of his team-mates,a billion £ you're having a laugh cos they still have to play young kids who don't have a clue what it is they're supposed to be doing.
  17. well he was 35 at the time
  18. what like Gillett and Fish Mills you mean. We have a big big problem you know it's called Lambert Tunnel Vision.Bloke is total dump at the moment, Barnard is more likely to score but we have to pick him anyway. It's throwing the whole system out, putting stress onto other players.
  19. as he probably will, problem is they're skint and have to offload a player beforehand.Thing is it has to be a player they don't want, trouble is neither does anyone else. Now if it were Matuidi or Rivière it would be easy.
  20. won't go as far north as that.
  21. Not **** exactly but we do have a way of dumping ourselves in the ****. Our front 4 are misfiring and that leads to monumental problems,we try to reinforce them from our defensively orientated players and we get hit on the break.
  22. probably not really surprising, they're a promoted side aren't they? I'd have thought they were doing as well as can be expected tbf.
  23. now let me see when we sacked our manager we won the next 15 on the trot....oh no sorry we didn't we lost a lot of games.
  24. what do you expect it's Oldham run by Dickov.
  25. That's because Chaplow isn't a milieu recuperateur in the strict sense of the word, he should be getting forward but as I don't personally happen to think he's particularly good I could see that he got shut down by Oldham. We should have got that old bugger Kishishev instead of Brighton,he could do the job that Morgan is doing and let him get forward as he does for the bleuets, he really is quite good at it you know, but he needs someone more solid that Chaplow behind him at that stage, like Hammond.
