  1. But it's not about just Colchester. Huddersfield have 7 winnable games out of 8.That's more than enough to put us right out of the picture. If they win 5 of them we'll be toast on the play-off front.
  2. It's still 8 points that we've got to make up come what may. What I am saying is that the more teams above us (whatever the points difference may be) the less chance we have of making up the difference over all of them will be. If we were to win all of our games then Colchester would have to not win at least 4, Huddersfield at least 3 etc etc etc. With each game that we fail to make up points over all of them the difficulty increases.
  3. Colchester really aren't the best barometer to use.If they fail then Huddersfield probably won't. Our chances of reaching the POs depends on what happens to 3 or 4 teams, not just Colchester. If they lose today Huddersfield could move above them by beating Wycombe tomorrow.Nothing changes for us, we're still 11 points off of the play-offs all the same.Even Brizzle and MK Dons are still in the mix if the Us nose dive, providing Huddersfield do the same.
  4. The goal is to be in the play-offs or so it would seem. Otherwise they should just stop talking about them and get on with preparing next season.
  5. Maybe he's working on a contract for next season...elsewhere. Doubt if he's on much of deal with us tbh.
  6. I can envisage a change this summer, whether it will happen or not I've no idea. I just don't think NC is the type of guy who'll take a shot on another below par season but then again maybe he's not the only one who decides. What I would like to see is AP continuing as manager for the whole of next season but with some far more astute and adventurous coaches at his side because to me Dean Wilkins and Wally Downes just aren't what we need, too staid, too old school.
  7. Kenny Jackett ??
  8. Progress has been made but not consistently enough.
  9. And Millwall had 29 points from 20 games. Means they've taken 42 from 18, that's going some. If you want a yard stick you should compare us to Millwall, the comparison does not flatter us.
  10. Nope it's this summer or next summer, don't like chopping and changing managers mid season. If he starts he should finish come what may.
  11. Although I see from his latest piece on the OS that he feels we can still afford maybe one more slip up (suppose he means a draw by that) If he really thinks that 76 points will secure us a play-off place this season then I wouldn't mind some of those happy pills, especially as I have to work all week-end and Monday as well.
  12. Well that would depend on extracting a 10 match dodgy patch from everybody else's results as well. Our true form over the whole season puts us in 7th place because you can't just arbitrarily cast aside matches or groups of matches from one team without doing the same for others. Leeds have had a rough patch, so cast aside their last 10 matches and see if we're on "automatic promotion" form or not then. Millwall for instance got only 11 points from their first 10 games, since then they've got 60 from 28, so their form is better than ours so is Norwich's, so no auto promotion really.
  13. I see from the BBC that AP thinks we bossed the game, would you say that was right, you people who were there? I didn't get that impression from the commentary but with Dave you never can tell;
  14. But should a side who have invested more than 3 million £ this season alone be totally dependant on one 20 year old lad? Don't really think so. Anyway it's not the end of the world, we weren't going to win them all anyway. We'll have a tough time against Charlton I expect because they really need to win as well.
  15. i think the problem will resolve itself, Morgan won't be here next season anyway, or so I think
  16. No real alternatives.Despite our massive squad it's pretty obvious that our playing system is dependant on very few players.
  17. triple subs for us Wotton,Jaidi,Antonio off, 3 other blokes on
  18. what's happening next season then? we have the best squad in this League already, yet we're losing to Brighton for the second time ths season. Can't see what difference next year will make.Surely our megabucks squad cannot be totally dependant on one 20 year old lad.
  19. Puncheon just wide after a good run
  20. He also thought he was too good for them..or so they say. Not difficult to be too good for Brighton though is it.
  21. Ben and Jerry's new alcoholics range I expect
  22. 1-1 Deano, things are looking up
  23. Puncheon hits it into the wall, a masterpiece of jiggery pokery which gained us...fack all.
  24. Free kick for us, Lambert range
  25. Dave will be surprised if Alan keeps the same shape for the entire half. It will need major changes in personnel to bring it to 442 though. Maybe James for Antonio and Lallana moving forward. Corner to us
